Accelerating New Leaders in Memphis
Speaking of the next generation of leaders.... we're looking at YOU, college students! New Memphis has been engaging collegians for more than 10 years through our free series of Summer Experience events that introduces students to each other and Memphis. In light of the challenges in networking the last few years have posed, we expanded these events to recent grads and YPs this year, and the result was a smashing success! We also began a leadership program, Accelerate, to take a deeper dive with a smaller group to ensure they have the confidence and resources to launch their careers right here in Memphis after graduation. 🎓 If you're interested in not only attracting young talent to Memphis but also retaining those new leaders, donate to New Memphis here: https://bit.ly/3xoaXQn

Support Future Fellows
New Memphis Fellows is a year-long program that provides mid-career professionals with the toolbox to transform not only their organizations but their city. Having been in their careers for more than a decade, these participants have a better idea of their strengths, and Fellows shows them how to lean in and level up. This program also offers Community Action Projects (affectionately known as CAPs) that partner participants with nonprofits to help solve for an immediate need. Anticipating a decade of Embark
In 2023 we will be embarking on a new chapter (see what we did there?). Embark will celebrate its 10-year-anniversary which means the 500+ young professionals who have graduated are well on their way to senior leadership! The first step to making your mark is better understanding yourself, and this program allows YPs the chance for introspection and connection. What would the future of our city be without educators?🍎New Memphis invests in early-career educators through Stride by providing PD they can use, connecting them to a community of educators, and showcasing our vibrant city. In return, these educators receive a stipend for taking the time to invest in themselves. Cheers to 25 years! 🥂 2022 marked a quarter of a century for New Memphis' flagship program, LDI. The emphasis on leadership and community action are still hallmarks of New Memphis today. Much has changed since then, but developing and empowering leaders is still the underpinning of everything we do. We are building networks of people who believe in Memphis’ potential and feel deeply responsible for shaping our city’s future for the better. The LDI program began with that intention, and 25 years later we are still building on that foundation. Our city and our organization would not be the same without the more than 1,000 graduates of the LDI program.
