Dear members and Non Members,
Your confidence and loyalty to our noble organization Ofalarun Eleme USA Inc. makes us thankful this year and every year. The National Executive Council and the Board of Directors extend to you our best wishes for a happy, healthy and a forgiving Thanksgiving Day.
As individuals, the true measure of our thanksgiving is how we use our blessings to better ourselves, our families, our community and our nation. If we are really thankful, we share and forgive one another. The holidays can be difficult as people struggle with job losses, financial worries and in some cases, dealing with old emotional wounds that can come up when families gather. Refusing to forgive family members, friends and neighbors can derail our plans for a happy holiday. But learning to forgive can open the door for us to experience true joy, peace, and gratitude.
The tragedy of the COVID-19 pandemic is having a profound effect on the lives of millions of people around the world. Our great organization is not exceptional. The threat of the disease and casualties are destabilizing our communities. Recently imposed restrictions to daily life have forced us to quickly adopt different ways of working, learning, and connecting with each other. But the good news is the coming of the vaccine plays a great deal. I'm happy to announce to you that Ofalarun Eleme USA will resume its full operations comes next year.
This is the time to open our hearts and share whatever we can with your family, friends, neighbors, and community. Simple acts of kindness truly define the Thanksgiving holiday. As we gather today in our homes, let us rejoice in our togetherness, for the blessings we have received, and for the love that surrounds us. Let us resolve to express appreciation to those whose lives have touched us, those who have made our existence so much richer and meaningful.
Let us be thankful for where we are today as Ofalarun Eleme and also pray that we shall continue to excel and waxed strong to be able to embark on the task ahead of us. Together we shall fight for the cause of our Land Eleme. Let’s join hands together in making Ofalarun Eleme strong. Be part of these epoch transitions. Truly, there’s a place for everyone in Ofalarun Eleme. However, as we dine and wine, let’s keep Eleme people in our thoughts and prayers. Let us wholeheartedly embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving Day and carry it within our hearts and into the future.
Finally, as we prepare to gather with family for the thanksgiving dinner, let’s consider the following steps as essential as the food we to prepare:
1. Recognize that we need to forgive,
2. Rethink what it means to forgive,
3. Ask for and offer forgiveness,
4. Allow the space for you and the other person to say everything that needs to be said.
May God give us a thankful and forgiving heart so that we can become a whole person, not just gifted with intellect that can understand, but with a heart that truly forgives, cares, and loves.
Yours Servant-Leader
Chief Joe Obarichinwi
