Let’s remember that our priority is our players having a great experience playing and learning about soccer. Don’t forget this when you are winning or losing your game!

Merced County Volunteer of the Year recognition for the living legend, TOM!!🗣️🔥🤩🏆

Tom Siverly is a cornerstone of our comMUnity and the prime example of dedication within the Merced Youth Soccer Association, tirelessly contributing his time for the past 20+ years. His commitment spans across all facets of the organization, ensuring soccer field maintenance and painting for Merced College, Merced High, MacNamara Park, and the Youth Sports Complex….on top of managing the financial stability of our organization and ensuring we retain our Nonprofit status. Thank you Tom, and his wife🥰 for allowing him to commit so much time so we can provide our programs to thousands of Youth and Adults in Merced.

From inspiring future leaders at TedX University of the Pacific to motivating students at Rivera Elementary School in Merced, where he invited CV Fuego to share the playground.

Jovan’s journey has made him a beacon of resilience and determination. His narrative on the strength found in unity reminds us that the lessons learned in soccer—teamwork, persistence, and the ‘Never Give Up’ attitude—are just as powerful in the classroom and beyond. With each talk, Jovan reinforces the Merced United ethos that in our comMUnity, every challenge is an opportunity to grow stronger together.

Merced United Day was a celebration of the spirit and pride that pulses through our programs and the wider Merced community. A day where every pass, picture, and cheer echoed the unity that is at the heart of our mission.

Together, we’re more than just teams and players; we’re a family, bound by passion for youth development and the shared belief that ‘ComMUnity’ starts with ‘MU’. Cheers to the bonds formed and the memories made.🫶

It was a big day in Merced last NIGHT! We helped bring the first Lamar Hunt Open Cup match that the City of Merced has hosted to UC Merced’s Bobcat Field.🐯

Making our presence known by bringing out over 450 Merced United community members to the game to watch top level play from Central Valley Fuego FC. From packing the stands to providing the ball boys/girls and the dream team, we showed out Big to support. A partnership might be on the way and we wanted to show how much fuego we could bring.🔥

It’s easy to forget we have our own adult league where 5 divisions of teams play every Sunday all year round! The Merced United League is open for players who still want to compete at a high level, sometimes against family teams who have carried the torch through the generations. The rivalries are spicy and we love to see teams playing with pride.🔥

Make sure to show love to Valente and the Referee crew who is out there every Sunday making sure teams have fun in a safe environment. More developments to come for the Merced United League!🫡🫡

Over the weekend, our Merced United team hosted the US Soccer 9v9 & 11v11 Grassroots Courses here at McNamara Park. Coaches from all over California, like the Bay and LA, traveled to Merced to further their education and continue their journey on the coaching license pathway. We are working towards hosting more coaching courses in Merced and are pursuing the ‘D’ & ‘C’ courses so coaches in the Central Valley can take advantage.📍

Thank you to all of our MU players who showed up to help with demos! 🔴⚪️⚫️🔴⚪️⚫️

After the Fall Recreational season concludes, a select group of players are selected to play on our All-Star teams to represent Merced against neighboring cities. Just another development opportunity we provide our players to continue leveling up their skills.⬆️⬆️⬆️

From shaping the early days of Merced United to leading Golden Valley High School’s team, Coach Lance Eber is still building his legacy in Merced youth soccer.

Coaching the same team, nurturing his daughter’s talent alongside her teammates, from their first U12 squad to their triumphant U17 days🏆 up until their U19 squad. As Merced United evolved, so did Coach Eber’s role, adapting with grace from Merced United Explosion to Merced United G95. Coach Eber also coached his son on a U15 MUFC team and the first Adult Team in Merced United history back in 2014. Now steering the ship at Golden Valley High School, his legacy continues, a chronicle of not just coaching, but of shaping lives on and off the pitch.

👏👏👏Here’s to the enduring impact of a coach who’s seen it all and won it all. His dedication to the sport, his family, and the players transcends time, as he continues to mentor and inspire the next generation of soccer stars.

Daniel Castro took his Coaching Education to the next level by securing his National B License!👏👏👏 This not only shows his commitment to improving himself but also his commitment to developing stronger players. Daniel is now the coach with the highest U.S. Soccer License in the Merced United Coaching Family. Congratulations and Thank You Coach🫡

We have Grassroots coaching courses coming up January 17-21 for those coaches who want to step their game.

✨Warmest holiday wishes to the entire Merced United family. May your season be filled with joy and your hearts with the love of the game.⚽️ Happy Holidays to all!

We are grateful for the partnership and support First 5 Merced County has provided towards our U6 players! As we continue to build towards sport equity one of our goals is to ensure that a parent’s income doesn’t exclude their son or daughter from playing soccer or becoming an MU All-Star.🌟

Our U10 Boys All-Stars and 2015 Competitive teams played 2 exciting games today! Always good to see our Rec and Comp programs collaborating.⚽️🤝

We want to thank the City of Merced Parks and Recreation team and Merced Youth Council for partnering on our Merced United Esports tournament! Securing Mainzer and providing the appetizers took the event to another level.😎

We also presented the Parks and Community Services team with a $500 check to start the fund to expand the McNamara Turf field fencing. The goal is to show respect for the surrounding houses who consistently have soccer balls crashing into their backyards and to improve the player experience by reducing the amount of lost balls or ruining the flow of the game. This has been an issue for a long time and we hope this helps kick things off!

Fuego Academy might not have taken home the chip but the MU boys balled out, had their presence known, and Kai even assisted Logan for a goal.🔥 Logan mentioned how this tournament experience will help him grow, “This tournament has helped me learn more about what I need to improve in my game on and off the field and I am very grateful for the opportunity. I hope to be back in Tampa Florida for Finals next year!”.

Special thanks to Adam Smith, Fuego Academy Head Coach, for providing our boys the chance to play. Opportunities to compete against top players from around the country don’t come too often, so when you do get them make sure you leave it all out there and execute on what you have been training. We’re excited to keep developing talented players who can play major roles on top teams like CV Fuego.👏👏

We want to thank our MULA squad and Merced United Coaches for taking Lead through a tough year. We have learned so much in 2023 but we have so much more to go. Let’s continue to push forward United as we focus on developing young student athletes and leaders in our comMUnity.

Make sure to stay warm during the holidays with your new MU scarves!🔴⚪️⚫️

Our FC 24 Tournament Winner is Eddie! He came through and took out the competition in convincing fashion.🫡 Calm and collected until the end, we got to see the making of an Esports Champion live at Mainzer.

Walking out with a $500 scholarship for an evening of work is not too shabby. More prizes, tournaments, and Gamer Community building to come in 2024.

It’s beautiful when the Merced United family comes together off the field for events like this.🎄 We loved to see how many players came from both our Rec and Comp programs, with the 2015 boys showing up strong! Next year we’ll have an even bigger MU presence.

⚽️Shoutout to our Director of Coaching (Steve) and Board Members- Luz, Aaron, and Jovan- for bringing the float together for our players and the community to enjoy.🥰

We had to do something special for the last session of the Fall Merced United Leadership Academy (MULA) season and thought Kind Neighbor açaí bowls was the perfect way🤌. Not only did the squad get to taste a healthy on-the-go snack but also learned about the struggles with being a woman entrepreneur. The girls engaged🤩 with Rocio asking questions about her path getting to where she is now running her own business!
