Prayers to Ryan and his family. RIP K9 Ranger.

We have some sad news to share tonight. Our retired GPD K9 Ranger passed away late this afternoon due to a medical condition. He was surrounded by his family and went peacefully. K9 Ranger was loved by the entire community, and brought smiles to countless children and adults from the day he began his service in 2012. His handler, Sergeant Ryan Sayre, adopted Ranger following his retirement, and ensured he had a very happy life with his family. We are more grateful than ever K9 Ranger was able to help hide some K9 plushies just a few weeks ago, as we got to see him back at work. Our hearts go out to the Sayre family during this difficult time, and we will all miss Ranger's smile and happy heart.

MPK9F was able to meet with Children's Health today and donated over 300 stuffed animals! Thanks to everyone for your support to our foundation. Hopefully our donation will bring a smile to some kiddos this holiday season 💙

K9 Ferris and Officer Hill took some time today to stop and do some reading with the kiddos from Floyd Elementary. 🐾📖

Mesquite Fire could use your support and prayers as one of our own is struggling with a serious illness. While specifics cannot be shared at this time, just know that this is a life and death fight and the family needs serious prayers. Tomorrow the Mesquite firefighter will be moved from Dallas to an east Texas facility. They will travel along Hwy 80 around 10am. The Mesquite fire family has stepped up in a big way and I’m proud to be a part of it, please pray for healing, for the family, and for Mesquite Fire as a whole. Thank you.

Chief Gill has approved for staff to support our Rangers during their quest for a World Series by wearing Rangers hats. Enjoy the game and celebrate responsibly as you cheer on Bochy’s boys tonight. It’s Baseball Time in Texas and as always, Go Rangers!

Through PetSmart charities, Chance and Friends program helps raise money to provide stuffed animals for kids in need. Either to comfort a sick kiddo or just brighten one’s day, Chance and Friends help make that happen. MPK9F was able to make a donation to PetSmart Charities to help spread the love to our community.
