Three generations of support for Leesfield & Partners. This week, Michael Salomon joined us with a third generation of dedication at our firm. Michael’s mother, Ceci, and his grandfather, Nelson, have also been part of the firm over its 47-year history.

We gathered to applaud JP Lazo de la Vega, our Office Service Director, who is attending school in China to complete his undergraduate work. On the heels of an incident last week in Miami that sent dozens of condo residents to the hospital with possible carbon monoxide poisoning, about 20 tenants of a Connecticut apartment complex suffered through the same ordeal from a generator left running in an enclosed space.

Less than a month after Leesfield & Partners Founder and Managing Partner Ira Leesfield and Trial Lawyer Evan Robinson penned an article in Trial Magazine about the dangers of carbon monoxide, about 22 Miami condo residents were taken to the hospital following a possible leak. Accidental cases of breathing in carbon monoxide happen more than one might think and, according to the Centers for Disease Control, claim the lives of approximately 400 Americans each year.

In its 30 years, the foundation has made an indelible impact in the United States and abroad with grants, scholarships, community support, and disaster relief.

Since 2013, Friends of the Underline has worked to transform the land beneath Miami's Metrorail into a 10-mile linear park complete with an urban walking trail and public art installation.

Carbon monoxide kills about 400 Americans a year, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control. In a recent interview with NBC, Brian Chesky, the CEO of Airbnb, discusses the difficulties the company has faced. Among them are the deaths of guests from carbon monoxide poisoning — a practice area that Leesfield & Partners is all too familiar with. A case handled by the firm garnered national attention after an Iowa family sued their Key West hotel for failing to make proper repairs to a damaged roof vent, causing the gas to leak into the room where they slept.
