One of the coolest things about this Historic home was the original woodwork was in pristine condition…but there was a lot of it, especially in this formal entryway.
We chose to add some interest to take your eye off all of the wood so, we added a gorgeous black and white wallpaper by called Bird and Thistle. 🤍🖤

✨Mudroom spaces are so important especially in the Midwest, where weather gear storage is a must! This is one of the most used rooms in the home by everyone including guests so making it pretty is a necessity.
We payed attention to the details in this space and added some fun bright patterns to make it happy even in the gray winter months ✨

⚡️These green 💚 chairs!! ⚡️

I have had these funky spindle chairs for 8 years from my custom upholstery line and I never once regretted this bright green color I ordered them in!
I even sold my house on Gull Lake furnished but these were one of the only things I brought with me to Indiana.

If you love a color, never be afraid to put it on upholstery. I hate when I walk into clients homes and they have filled the space previously with all neutral beige upholstery.

Chairs are the best place to put colors that will pop ✨ and add character to your space.
Don’t be afraid to add bold color to your space…..it what makes the space unique to you 🤩

Pink is having a moment right now and I’m here for it

Thibaut Wallpaper always brings the color……did you know that they are the oldest US wallpaper company?
Since 1886!!
Also I have carried them in my studio for 23 years ✨

Here we had a modern Jack-n-Jill bath between two bedrooms with very different colors.

The logical thing to do was marry the spaces with Black and White….we threw in some Queen of Spain wallpaper in the middle and there we have it!

I’ve got a few quintessential Michiana Shores cottages on my mind this morning 🥰🏖️

My dad had a cabin in Michiana when I was growing up and there is something so unique about this little neighborhood by the shores of Lake Michigan. I love the pine paneling, the painted exterior log siding and the tall stone fireplaces.
I can’t wait to dive into these new projects!

Dipping my toes in a commercial project for these fun clients💚🧃💚
I was drawn in by their concept first and foremost….bringing healthy clean foods to communities that need it! They spread the word about healthy eating and are trying to make the concept of fast food healthy. I’m all for clean eating so of course I’m on board for designing their second location!

Note the fun accordion window on the front…..bring the outside in during those fabulous summer months! The perfect place to grab a juice and hit the beach. Steps from Lake Michigan 🏖️ 👙

Thought I would share this fun reupholstered pair of chairs in this modern breakfast nook…..totally giving vibes of modern design straight from Milan 💕

The fabric is by straight from the UK 🇬🇧 and one of my favorite citrine soft textures!

Absolute perfection for the look this client loves 😍

Verona was an epic experience with our friends from Dublin! We ate, we drank, we learned to make pasta, ravioli, risotto and tiramisu. The wineries in the Amarone region were breathtaking and the local winemakers were a delight! We learned so much and as long as we kept eating we could marathon taste 🍷🍝🇮🇹

Pink Tweed chairs are on my mind today…..basically it’s fabrics and fun interiors like this that get me through the winter months! I can’t wait to get the fun green ottoman in this room to finish out this seating area. Design Projects are always evolving 💁🏼‍♀️💕💚🖤

I spend a lot of time explaining this to my clients and it’s funny, most of the time they need to learn it on their own. 🙈🙈

Please look at upholstery as an investment. A little research on construction goes a long way. Any upholstered furniture coming from Wayfair, Costco, Pottery Barn (Williams Sonoma) and Ashley is something to avoid for a lot of reasons. The cushions usually are made with a lower cost foam and no wrapping which makes them break down faster. The fabrics are a lower cost which make them wear faster. The frames are usually part or all MDF which will break down faster than hardwood frames.

The fabric quality it’s covered in matters.
The interior cushion material matters more.
The hardwood frame matters the most.

This frame is unexpectedly comfortable and we have done a pair in this gorgeous Clark and Clark citrine, a Thibaut navy and in a few weeks a pair is arriving in a fun Schumacher pink tweed 💕

I couldn’t have predicted this mid century style being so versatile and comfortable but it has been! I love mixing design styles to form a very unique interior for each client but never sacrificing comfort for style 💁🏼‍♀️
