The Vol. Patrick Torphy Pipes and Drums is open to all who want learn to play the pipes or drums. You do not have to be Irish or Catholic to join our ranks.
Patrick Torphy Pipes and Drums is open to anyone with the desire to learn the pipes or drums. We are a family friendly band seeking to recruit both beginner students and experienced players. Our band provides professional instruction and encourages you to bring your children to learn with you. Message us for more details if you are interested.

Members of the band along with the Monmouth County Police and Fire Pipes and Drums were honored to play at the opening ceremony of the First Annual First Responder Appreciation Day hosted by the Ken Tietjen Memorial foundation. It was a beautiful day and a great event.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the band at our Pub Night. The funds raised will go a long way toward outfitting our four new pipers as well as allowing us to continue providing free professional instruction to those wanting to learn the pipes or drums.

Congratulations to our drummer girl Molly on receiving one of the Port Authority Police Dept. Pipes and Drums Memorial Scholarships last night. This meant a lot to her Mom, having been blessed to have known these three great men who were heroes killed in the attacks on 9/11 along with 34 other PAPD officers. 37 Never Forget.
What a beautiful day we had to honor and remember our fallen service members at the Keansburg Memorial Day Parade.
Our young pipers did well today at the Fair Hill Scottish Games taking a 2nd in the Piobaireachd and 3rd in the March. Well done Lads!

The band played at a house party before the parade, then the parade, then a business party after and rounded out the day at the Columbus Club in Fair Haven along with the Birmingham 6 (great Philly band if you’ve never heard them).Broke in a bass drummer on the fly too (thanks Tom!) Unfortunately the Middletown St. Patrick’s Day Parade set for tomorrow March 11th has been postponed due to weather. Tentative new date of April 1st. We hope to see you all at the Rumson Parade on Sunday March 12th.

To kick off the season, we had the pleasure of playing at the Belmar St. Patrick's Day Parade 50th Anniversary Fundraiser at the Salty Whale in Manasquan. Thank you to the Coast Star for the nice mention in their January 12th issue.
Honored to represent the band and Middletown Township Police Department at the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Exemplification yesterday on the Battleship New Jersey BB-62.
Members of the band had a great time supporting Jason’s Dreams for Kids at the Annual Pop Conlin Irish Wake Fundraiser held at the Dublin House in Red Bank this past Saturday. Got to debut our new O’Neills kit!
