7/31 My role model
My role model and mentor was my great Uncle Edward he was a very talented man. He was a artist. He painted pictures and wrote songs played the piano and even taught my mom, myself, and my children to play the Tennessee waltz on piano. He was like an angel with the biggest heart anyone ever meet. He inspired me to go to college and become a LPN then business and law school. He helped raise 3 and a half generations of his sister's "my grandmother" offspring. He took care of us and supported us in every way possible. He taught us to work hard and follow our dreams and he believed in us. He was born into the great depression and as a man of color he had faced many adversaries. He continued to rise above it. We were so lucky to have had him. He passed 31 days ago today and I miss him dearly. I took care of him full time for the past 2 years and I'm grateful for all the great memories and all the lessons he taught me but integrity was the number one thing he valued.

7/28 my morning routine
My morning routine has changed recently due to my Uncle Edward passing he was my job for the past 2 years. I had stopped with my work to take care of him full time and we wouldn't had it any other way. I'd get up feed and clean him, then I'd get 3 of my grandchildren to take care of and my kitty's especially Little Foot he Paws me in the eye to get up and feed him lol. So I fed all and cleaned all then we watch Ms. Rachel for a little while and eat lunch. Then once they're down for a nap I get to do my work in my office.

7/26 why I love Pageants
I have loved Pageants since I was a little girl. I feel like Pageants have purpose just like any sport. It's a competition but you can make new friends at each Pageant. I love making new friends and I love women empowering other women through Pageants.

My Uncle Edward was the best Uncle in the world. He was there for me when no one else was. He loved me unconditionally and he had the biggest heart in this world. He died 26 days ago today. I will always love you to the best uncle ever🥰❤

7/25 My favorite volunteer activity
Back in February I hosted my annual Hope for Paws fundraiser pageant. We collected and delivered OVER 500lbs of cat/dog food and kitty litter for local animal shelters and animal fosters. We also raised enough money to spay and nueter over 20 cats that were feral. Spay and nueter awareness is one of my biggest platforms because it's hard for low income families to be able to afford the cost. There are ways to get pets spayed and neutered at low cost. Prevention is key to overpopulated shelters.

7/21 pageant prep.
Deciding what outfits to bring with me to nationals and deciding on how many pairs of shoes I'll be bringing is difficult because I can never make up my mind. Trying them all on is a must to see how they will fit and how they make me feel really determins how confident I feel on stage so it's very important.

My favorite appearance was judging at The Miss Red White & Beauty pageant that was held in Lewisberg Tennessee back a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed seeing all the contestants in their beautiful gowns and spending time with other pageant sisters. This is the best group of empowered women that I know in the pageant world. They are all making a big difference in the world and I am proud to know them all.

7/18 Why Am I competing?

I am competing because I love pageants and everything that goes with them. I think Pageants represent women empowering other women on so many different levels. I think its very important to encourage each other. We should complement more women and especially our young girls. We can rise through pageantry. I have been competing since I was a little girl. I took a break for a couple of decades to raise my family while I attended college. From my very first pageant I can remember how thrilled I was to be on a stage and have someone see me shine through my shell. It was inspirational to me and still pageants continue to inspire me. I love that I can shed some light on the causes I love so much through pageants by using my title.
