Your Milford 9u and 11u All-Stars kicked off their run at The 10th Annual Cam Ricard Souhegan Valley Invitational tournament in Hollis last night with both teams playing against Londonderry.

The 9u team had an amazing night with dominant performances on the mound and at the plate. Your Milford 9u All-Stars defeated Londonderry by a score of 12-0.

Starting pitcher Josh Morin went the distance on the mound pitching all 4 innings allowing only 4 hits and striking out 4 in the shutout. The defense was perfect too committing no errors. The offense was led by Josh Morin (6 RBI), Weston DeFranco and Andrew Gomez who all had multiple hits.

Milford jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st on a Josh Morin RBI single that scored Weston DeFranco. The 9u All-Stars added 5 runs in the third inning on 4 hits including 3 doubles by Weston DeFranco, Cam Conley and Danny Ciardelli. Your Milford 9u All-Stars offense wasn't done there. In the 4th inning after a few walks and an RBI single from Weston DeFranco added 2 runs, Josh Morin stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded. Josh rocketed an 0-1 pitch deep to left field and came around to score on an incredible inside the park Grand Slam!!!

Congratulations 9u All-Stars on the huge win! Your 9u All-Stars return to the diamond on Saturday with a double header vs Keene and Dover.

The 11u All-Stars once again squared off against Londonderry. A team they lost a close battle to in the state tournament and who went on to be the runner up in States. It was a back and forth game that was close throughout but ended with Londonderry on top 8-7.

Milford started the scoring in the 2nd inning on an RBI single by left fielder Colby Alejandro that scored Killian Collins. Londonderry took the lead scoring 2 in the second inning. Milford came right back in the 3rd with 2 of their own on smart base running by Bryson Weeks scoring on a passed ball, and an RBI single by Aiden Hanson that scored Chase Wiegand. Londonderry once again retook the lead scoring 2 more in the bottom of the 4th, but Milford wasn't done fighting. The 11u All-Stars came back with 4 runs in the 5th off a Chase Wiegand RBI single and a 3 run double to right by Aiden Hanson. Unfortunately, Milford wasn't able to hold on to the lead and after a couple singles and errors in the field, Londonderry tied the game in the bottom of the fifth, and walked it off in the 6th.

Your 11u All-Stars will be back at it on Saturday with a double header games against Exeter.

All in all, a great night of baseball with a monster win for the 9u's and a close but heartbreaking defeat for the 11u's. Keep fighting boys!!

What a wild ride it has been. Your Milford 12u All-Stars entered the NH Cal Ripken State tournament as the #2 seed from the west district. But their impressive run came to an end last night as they were defeated by the #1 seed from the east Manchester by a score of 13-5.

The game got started with a wild inning where Manchester jumped out to a 5 run lead in the first. Milford settled in and came back with 4 runs of their own in the 3rd. But Manchester never let up adding 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. It felt like Milford wasn't out of the game at that point but just couldn't claw their way back.

This team, that has been playing together with roughly the same roster for the last 3 seasons, exceeded everyone's expectations this season. After a tough 3-13 season last year, to come out and go 12-4, sweep the Swanzey Invitational, place second in districts and prove they can win in States ending with a top 5 finish, has been truly remarkable. While their State run has ended, they aren't done yet! They still have the biggest local tournament this week, The Souhegan Valley Invitational, and a tournament at Maine's Fenway Park in August.

On behalf of the entire MCAA organization, I want to express how extremely proud we all are of your accomplishment. This season wasn't about individual achievements, although there were many, it was about playing as a team and playing for each other, and you boys did that game after game. Congratulations on a great season so far as you turn the page and move on to SVI!

That's not the end of the MCAA baseball news. Your 9u and 11u All-Stars teams begin their Souhegan Valley Invitational tournament play tonight! Both teams will face off against their counterparts from Londonderry. Your 9u and 11u teams will be looking to avenge very close losses to both of these Londonderry teams in the state districts so I know they will be exciting match ups.

Both games will be played at the ball fields on Depot rd in Hollis starting at 6:00 pm

Last night was the start of the MCAA Softball Summer Sandlots. 28 athletes showed up in the heat for pitching, fielding, and hitting drills followed up by a scrimmage game. Whether they were new to the game or have played for years, the sandlot focuses on teaching fundamentals and keeping skills and the love for softball going throughout the summer for our MCAA athletes.

There will be more sandlots throughout the summer. If you are interested in learning more about the MCAA Softball Summer Sandlot, please reach out to our softball director for more information at [email protected].

Your Milford 12u All-Stars were engaged in another impressive pitchers duel last night in the NH Cal Ripken State Tournament. A game that saw both starters go deep and allow no earned runs. Your Milford 12u All-Stars managed to come away with a 1-0 victory over Keene and cement their place among the top 8 teams in the state!

Starting pitcher Noah Hanson was back on the mound and did what every #1 starter is supposed to do, go deep into the game and get outs. Noah Hanson went 5 innings allowing only 4 hits while striking out 3. Noah's signature heavy pitching style induced mostly weak contact and pop-ups, allowing him to keep his pitch count low, and his fielders busy. In 5 innings of work he threw only 60 pitches, and Milford's fielders committed no errors. Cooper Pare came on for the last 3 outs to close out the game.

Both teams had base runners on in most innings but it was the second inning that was the deciding factor. After Keene gave up a 2 out walk to load the bases, Milford's own Tom Morin hit a ground ball up the middle that was missed played by the pitcher allowing Noah Hanson to score from 3rd. That error led to the only run of the game.

This was a very hard fought game for 2 teams that know each other well, as this was the 3rd meeting this year between Keene and Milford. It seemed like either team could break it open at any time. The loyal fans were on the edge of their seats, hanging on every pitch, but Milford played perfect team defense and shut down Keene in every inning. Congratulations boys on a very disciplined win against a great Keene team.

Your Milford 12u All-Stars face their toughest challenge yet tonight, when they take on Manchester in the quarter final round. Game time is 5:45 in Rochester

Your Milford 12u All-Stars began their New Hampshire Cal Ripken State tournament run with 2 pool play games against District 1 Champions Gilford and East district 3rd place qualifiers Londonderry.

Game one was a lopsided victory for Milford as they jumped out to an early 9-1 lead by the end of the second inning. Starter Noah Hanson was dialed in as he went the distance, pitching 5 innings allowing no earned runs and striking out 6.

The offense was led by starting left fielder Tom Morin who went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Cooper Pare and Brady Richardson also had multiple hits and combined for 4 RBI's.

In the end Milford out hit Gilford 11-4 in the 13-3 victory.

Game 2 against Londonderry was an incredible pitching dual as many expected it would be. Milford and Londonderry were scoreless going into the bottom of the 5th inning. Milfords starting pitcher Cooper Pare put on a clinic in efficient pitching. He went 4 ⅔ allowing only 3 hits while striking out 9 before reaching his pitch limit for the day. Cooper's gutsy performance unfortunately was matched by Londonderry's starter who went 5 innings allowing only 1 hit and striking out 10. Londonderry came alive in the bottom of the 5th inning, tallying 6 runs. Milford managed to get the bases loaded in the top of the 6th but couldn't get the runs across and fell to Londonderry 6-0.

Your Milford 12u All-Stars have once again proved that they can hang in there with some of the best teams in the state, and have positioned themselves well as they move on to the single elimination bracket. Their next match up is against Keene on Tuesday in Rochester. A win Tuesday will place them in to the top 8.

07/03/2024

Your 11u All-Stars run at the NH State Tournament came to an end last night when they lost a tough game to perennial contenders Quintown 6-3.

Your Milford 11u All-Stars jumped out to an early lead in the top of the 1st on a Gavin Hyde RBI single that scored Aiden Hanson. Gavin Hyde was a rock behind the plate at catcher, he went 2 for 3 with an RBI and was awarded player of the game by the Quintown coaches. Milfords other runs came on the longest 11 year old home run I've ever seen when Aiden Hanson's bomb hit the snack shack roof past the center field fence. Aiden Hanson had a great game at the plate going 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.

While the state tournament didn't go as planned, qualifying for the State tournament and being a top Cal Ripken team in New Hampshire was a huge accomplishment. We're all very proud of this team. They showed the kind of heart and fight that have made them a fun team to watch all season. They are not done yet! The 11u All-Stars will complete in the Souhegan Valley Invitational tournament that begins next week.

Your Milford 12u All-Stars are coming off a second place finish in the west district tournament. They will begin their run at states on Friday July 5th when they take on Gilford in the first game of pool play. Your Milford 12u All-Stars hope to take their incredible 10-2 start deep into the state tournament.

The 12u NH State Tournament is hosted at Roger Allen Park in Rochester.

Game time Friday is 8:00 pm under the lights!

Your Milford 11u All-Stars started their State tournament this weekend with games against Hudson and Londonderry.

In game 1 Hudson jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st on a walk, 2 hits and an error in the field. Milford answered in the bottom with a Chase Wiegand single and a Reid Martin RBI. Unfortunately that was all the offense Milford could muster and they fell to Hudson in game 1, 6-1.

In game 2 Milford's bats came alive, out hitting Londonderry 9-6. Once again Milford gave up an early 2-0 lead in the first, but came back scoring 1 in the first on an Aiden Hanson double and Killian Collins single. Milford tied the game in the 2nd inning when Andrew Fowler stole home on a wild pitch. Londonderry put up 4 runs in the 3rd which proved to be the decisive inning. Milford got 2 more runs back in the bottom of the inning on a Drew Bernier single that scored Colby Alejandro and Killian Collins. Ultimately Milford could not overcome the 3rd inning. Both teams added 1 more run later in the game as Milford fell to Londonderry 7-5.

Your Milford 11u All-Stars face a last chance battle against Quintown tonight to keep their hopes alive of moving out of pool play and into the bracket round of the state tournament.

Game time is tonight at 5:30 pm in Londonderry.

Your 9u All-Stars met local rivals Hollis-Brookline for a tune up game in preparation for their run at the big Souhegan Valley Invitational tournament. Milford's pitching was dominant as they combined for only 5 hits while striking out 7 on the night.

Milfords relentless offense was led by Josh Morin, Owen Hill, and Connor Lavoie who all had 3 hit each. Weston DeFranco, Cam Conley, and Carter Smith also had multiple hits in the game. All told, Milford combined for 17 hits and scored 19 runs. The defense was stout as well making play after play and committing no errors.

Your 9u All-Stars will complete in the Souhegan Valley Invitational tournament which begins next week. We will update when the tournament schedule and games are announced.

It has been such a great summer so far for MCAA Baseball, and it's not over yet!

MCAA alums and 5 year veterans of the Milford Umpire Program Harris Jones and Cade Cloutier played in the East West CHaD High School All-Star Football game. Remarkably both players had fumble recoveries for touchdowns in the 24-0 victory for the west.

The great thing about baseball is how it mirrors life so perfectly. In baseball, as in life, sometimes things don't go your way. But, you have to keep moving forward because the next game is just a day away and there's no time to get too high or too low.

Last night your Milford 12u All-Stars lost to a very talented and well coached Merrimack team in the West district finals. While it was a tough loss, Milford's remarkable district run has set them up as the #2 seed from the west in the New Hampshire Cal Ripken State tournament. We are all so proud of their accomplishments so far. We know they have the talent to potentially make a deep run in States.

Congratulations 12u All-Stars! The 10-2 Milford 12u All-Stars begin their state tournament next Friday July 5th out in Rochester.

The long awaited return of your Milford 11u All-Stars has finally arrived. They will be starting their State tournament today in Londonderry against the very team that eliminated them from their district run, Hudson. Milford 11u All-Stars enter the state tournament as the #4 seed from the west and Hudson is the #2 seed. As we've seen in the last 2 tournaments the 11u All-Stars have what it takes to play with just about anyone. We are looking forward to a great week of 11u baseball in Londonderry.

Game time today in Londonderry is 2:30
Pm

Never, ever, count this team out!

Your Milford 12u All-Stars have won the big blow out games, the low scoring pitchers duals, and the comeback thrillers. No win so far was more dramatic than last night's 10-8 victory over Swanzey.

After playing 4 games in 5 days Milford needed to reach deep into the bull pen and get some innings out of their relief pitchers. Starter Brady Richardson went 2 innings giving up 1 run. Dylan Fowler came on in relief and battled through 3⅓ innings surrendering 6 earned runs. Ryan Bonafilia came in with 2 outs remaining to close it out. Milford's defense was led by dynamic plays by catcher Cooper Pare who made 3 pick off outs from behind the plate.

After a slow start Milford bats came alive taking a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 3rd on a Cooper Pare RBI double and a Matt Caragher 2 run Home Run. More on Milfords version of Ortiz and Manny later.

After Swanzey scored 3 more runs through the 4th and 5th, Cooper Pare got Milford back on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the 5th. Swanzey's offense kept the pressure on putting up 3 more runs in the top of the 6th.

Milford had their backs against the wall in the bottom of the 6th. Down to their last out with 1 runner on base and trailing 8-4, Swanzey walked Noah Hanson and Ryan Bonafilia to load the bases and bring up the heart of Milford's batting order. #2 hitter Brady Richardson singled scoring Dylan Fowler and keeping the bases loaded. Cooper Pare then stunned the Swanzey crowd with a bases clearing double that 1 hopped the fence in center. The second half of Milford's power hitting duo Matt Caragher came to the plate and launched a 2-2 fast ball over the fence to give Milford the win on the dramatic walk off home run.

Your Milford 12u All-Stars stayed cool and confident throughout a very challenging game against the home field Swanzey team. They proved once again that their opponents have very little room for error and if there is any path to victory Milford has the talent to find it. Sometimes that means that they need every player for every out and every at bat and sometimes the leaders put the team on their back, say not today boys and just go get 1.

Milford will now have the tall task of facing Merrimack in the final. With the double elimination format, Milford must win 2 in a row over Merrimack to secure the district title and earn a top seed in the state tournament. Game 1 will be played tonight at 5:30 in Swanzey.

Your Milford 12u All-Stars notched another victory last night in the west district tournament eliminating perennial contenders Keene, and securing a top 3 finish in the west. Only Milford, Swanzey, and Merrimack remain. Final score was 7-5.

Wilton's silent assassin Paul Lemire got the start on the mound. After surrendering a lead off home run, he shook it off, settled in and went 4 ⅓ innings of scoreless ball, allowing only 4 more base runners. Paul was also a key player at the plate, with a game tying RBI in the second and the insurance RBI in the 5th. Milford's own Tom Morin came on in relief with a couple runners on and 5 outs remaining, and held off a late inning onslaught from Keene to secure the win.

Once again Milford was relentless at the plate scoring in every inning except the 1st. Milford really opened up the game in the 4th with a Brady Richardson RBI double, followed by a 2 run rocket home run by Cooper Pare. The game ended on a very fitting play when Keene popped out to first baseman Ezra Meltzer who secured the final out on his birthday! A little baseball magic there.

Your Milford 12u All-Stars next challenge is a very tough and well coached Swanzey team. Swanzey had their first loss of the tournament last night against Merrimack. Both teams are battling to earn the opportunity to play Merrimack in the west district final. Game time tonight is 5:30 in Swanzey.

Let's Go Milford!!!

Photos from MCAA's post 06/26/2024

Your Milford 12U All-Stars continued to get the job done last night, defeating Nashua 10-2. The story of this game, like so many others this season, was one of dominant pitching and big hits. The pitching combination of Noah Hanson, and Cooper Pare were lights out once again. The pair combined for only 6 hits and 8 strike outs. Starter Noah Hanson went 4 innings throwing 75% strikes. Cooper Pare came on to throw 2 scoreless innings in the win.

The offense was on fire with another multi home run game. Matt Caragher led off the scoring with a game tying solo home run the the 2nd. Followed by Jamieson Jones' towering game winning grand slam in the 5th that broke up a 2-2 tie Cooper Pare followed that up in the 6th with a 3 run shot of his own that put the game out of reach. Your Milford 12u All-Stars bats were relentless last night. Milford sent 32 batters to the plate and surrendered ZERO strike outs! Everyone put the ball in play or got on base.

No one can describe the way this team plays better than what Coach Richardson said to the team before the game, "Remember, we are stronger as a team than we are as individuals." These boys are playing great team baseball. Everyone plays, everyone contributes, everyone wins and loses together.

With the win last night your Milford 12u All-Stars secured a top 4 finish in the districts and earned a guaranteed spot in the state tournament. They will look to continue their district run tonight as they take on a hot Keene team who are also coming off 2 straight wins.

Great job boys! Keep playing for each other!

Another great weekend of summer baseball was capped off with a victory for your 12u All-Stars against local rivals Amherst. Your 12u All-Stars went 1-1 on the weekend, losing in game one against Hollis-Brookline then coming back to keep their district hopes alive with a win against Amherst. Game 2 was highlighted by yet another home run by slugger Cooper Pare. The team walked it off in the bottom of the 6th when Ryan Bonafilia stole home! The final score was 4-3. Your 12u All-Star continue their district run against either Nashua or Merrimack tomorrow in Swanzey.

Your 9u All-Stars district run came to an end on Friday night when they lost a tough battle against Londonderry. It was a close game until the 4th when Londonderry broke the 1-1 tie scoring 4 runs. A lead they would not relinquish. The 9u All-Stars will continue their tournament season next month in the Souhegan Valley Invitational tournament in Hollis.

Photos from MCAA's post 06/20/2024

Last night, your Milford 9u All-Stars defeated a determined Windham team in decisive fashion with a final score of 9-5. Windham jumped out to an early 1st inning lead. Then the Milford bats came alive scoring 2 in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd, and they never looked back. They added 4 more runs in the 5th to pad the lead and stifle a late inning rally from Windham. Starting pitcher Owen Hill went 4 ⅔ allowing only 4 runs and Josh Morin came on in relief to close it out. The pitching staff combined for 6 strikeouts and NO walks. Which is seriously impressive at the 9u level. The offense was led by the teams 2 hits leaders, Weston DeFranco who went 4 for 4 and Matyas Szilagyi who went 3 for 3. Aggressive base running was key factor in the win with 6 Milford players stealing 2 or more bases. Your 9u All-Stars need to secure 1 more win to advance out of districts into the State Tournament. They will face off against Londonderry tonight in Londonderry. A team that Milford beat in extra innings earlier in the tournament.

The thunderstorms past by early out in Swanzey, as your 11u All-Stars suffered defeat at the hands of a very talented Hudson team 8-3. Everyone contributed and there were some great plays in the field, but the offense couldn't get rolling at the right times as Milford unfortunately left 10 runners on base throughout the night. While they have been eliminated from their district title run, they accomplished their primary goal of qualifying for States. Your 11u All-Stars will take the next week to recover from the marathon of 2 consecutive weeks of play in Swanzey and prepare for their State tournament that begins at the end of next week.

Your 12u All-stars will try to keep the momentum of their undefeated season going into the 12u west district tournament. Where they will face off once again against rivals Hollis-Brookline in game 1 on Saturday in Swanzey.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches for their hard work and success so far. You're really making Milford and MCAA proud!

Thanks to all the parents, families, and friends that have been so supportive of these players and keep coming to the games and filling the stands with Milford fans!

What a night for Milford Baseball!

Your 12u Milford All-Stars completed the sweep against their biggest rivals Hollis-Brookline to take home 1st place in the Swanzey Invitational tournament going 6-0. The game had everything that makes baseball great. It started as a pitchers dual going scoreless into the 4th before Hollis-Brookline took a 1-0 lead. Milford came back to tie it in the 5th, only to give up one more run on the top of the 6th. In the bottom of the 6th down 2-1 with 2 runners on, Milford's own Brady Richardson smashed an absolute bomb to left center to deliver the 3 run walk off home run!! Congratulations to all the players and coaches and thank you to all the families, friends and fans that came out and filled the stands. These boys definitely earned a few days rest after playing 6 games in 6 days. Their 12u district tournament starts Saturday.

Out in Swanzey your 11u All-Stars defeated Swanzey 10-1 to advance to the final 4 of the west district, and punch their ticket into the state tournament. Reid Martin pitched a dominant complete game, and the bats were on fire from the first inning recording 13 hits in the game. 11u All-Stars will face a tough Hudson team tonight in Swanzey as they continue their run at a district title!

The 9u All-Stars lost a tough game against a very good Swanzey team. They played hard but Swanzey's offense seized the day racking up 12 hits. The 9u All-Stars are still very much in the mix as they face a do or die battle against Windham tonight in Londonderry. A win tonight and they advance to the final 4!

06/18/2024

A lot of big things are happening with your MCAA All-Star Baseball teams. The program is growing and the hard work these boys have been putting in the last few years is paying off.

We invite everyone to come tomorrow night at 8 pm under the lights on Nichols Field in Hollis to watch your 5-0 Milford 12u All-Stars battle the 4-1 Hollis-Brookline 12u All-Stars in the championship game of the Swanzey invitational tournament. Milford dealt Hollis-Brookline their only loss in the first round of the tournament. Milford 12u All-Stars will look to keep their undefeated record in the final game of the tournament. Milford 12u All-Stars have been led on the mound by ace pitcher, Wilton's Noah Hanson. The powerful offense scoring 53 runs in 5 games is led by home run hitters Matt Caragher of Wilton, and Milford's own Cooper Pare, Jamieson Jones, and Brady Richardson. Who doesn't love championship baseball under the lights?

Also playing tomorrow night, are the 11u All-Stars. After finishing 2nd in the Swanzey invitational last week, the 11u All-Stars are but 1 win away in the west district tournament from clinching a coveted spot in the The State tournament. Your 11u All-Stars are playing great team baseball with strong starting pitching from Reid Martin and timely hitting from hits leader Chase Wiegand(10), Gavin Hyde, and Colby Alejandro. Your 11u All-Stars will look to clinch a spot in states against the Swanzey All-Stars in Swanzey at 5:30 pm

Tonight, your 9u All-Star team won the first game of their district tournament when Weston Defranco broke up the 4-4 tie in extra innings with a cluch 2 run double. It was a great team win with a 7-4 final score. Milford's 9u All-Stars have set themselves up for a great run in the district tournament throughout the rest of the week.
