The CHAMP DRY SHAMPOO is amazing & a lifesaver on those days you want to extend before shampooing again.

a few tips for those with tangle prone hair!

Hair is one of the first things others notice about you. Many people make hair contact before making eye contact. Hair is visable from 360 degrees, is it making the statement you want it to about you?

As we age, our body ages right along with us, and this includes our hair. Remember those glorious locks of your youth and teen years? Back when your hair grew like weeds, glistened in the sun, did what you wanted it to do, and lasted through all those things you did to it?

Yes, hair does age. As the years tick by, our bodies produce less and less of the worlds most perfect hair conditioner, your very own sebum. Our scalp, entire skin really, has sebum glands in it. Sebum is the oil our body makes for us. As these glands shrink, they produce less oil for us. This change in production creates the changes we see in our hair and skin.

There are several signs of aging in hair.

-Hair becomes thinner, less dense, and looks sparse. Your scalp may begin to show through your hair no matter how creatively you try to style it.
-Balding may occur. Androgenic alopecia, Pattern Baldness, is the single most common cause of thinning and baldness, and is hormone driven.
-Hair turns grey because our body stops producing pigment for our hair.
-The texture changes making your hair feel coarse, dry, brittle. From the reduced production of hydrating sebum.
-Strands begin to become finer, skinnier, and less robust making them fall flat, or be more fragile.
-You’ll notice your hair doesn’t grow as well or as fast as it did in your 20’s.
-More hair is showing up in your brush, comb, hands, when you wash, or style your hair due to a decrease in the anchoring of your strand in the follicle.
-You may have noticed your hair looks dull, and lifeless. The change in texture is often the cause or the increased styling products used to ‘make it behave’.

You do not have to simply put up with it though. You can fight back, regrow your hair, increase the soft supple feel, increase the shine, density, and manageability. How? How do you fight back? How can you reverse the signs of aging in hair, and have those gorgeous enviable tresses of youth? You do it by replacing the ‘sebum’ your body isn’t producing anymore, along with cleansing and rehabbing your follicles.

DHT is what testosterone turns into in our bodies. DHT is the biggest culprit in hair loss, it is also a cause for facial hair changes in women. More than 1 in 4 women and upwards of 70% of men have DHT related pattern hair loss. In many many cases this is reversible with the right products. Products that cleanse and reduce the amount of scalp DHT can get those strands growing again. By replacing the reduced sebum, and ridding the scalp of DHT, you are creating the optimal environment for growing hair. Hair like you remember. I get asked all the time, "Why wash twice?" 🤔

The picture below shows the difference between the lather of your first shampoo and your second shampoo! Many people never believe me until they see it for themselves!! The 2nd shampoo wash will lather like crazy!!! (sometimes, not often....but sometimes it may take 3 washes to get a good lather. That’s typically only when you haven’t washed for days or have a lot of product build up in your hair).

The first shampoo does the 🏋️‍♀️ heavy lifting of loosening up the dirt, oil, and product build-up. After you rinse the first shampoo 💦 your second shampoo wash 💆🏼‍♀️ will add moisture, protein and nutrients into your hair.

Here is the correct way to wash your hair:

💠Wet your hair thoroughly!

💠Apply a small amount of shampoo into one hand, emulsify to the other hand, rub through your hands until hands are white, and apply all over your head.

💠Massage thoroughly on your scalp

💠Rinse very well

💠Repeat shampoo process (until you get suds like the 2nd picture- this could take 3 washes)

💠Gently squeeze out excess water

💠Apply a small amount of conditioner to your hands (nickel to quarter size depending on length)

💠Massage thoroughly through hair, ears down (conditioner isn’t meant to be on the scalp)

Shower Tip: I love a steaming hot shower as much as the next girl, but we need to try not to scorch our hair 😬

No matter your hair type, ALWAYS rinse with cold water. If you can’t do it for the whole shower, which come on, who can??.... at least do it for the last step (when rinsing out a conditioner or masque).

Rinsing with cold or normal water helps to close the cuticles and seals the moisture in each strand. 🚿🙌🏻

I was once guilty of using toxic products on my hair, and that is why I am so passionate about helping others find a safe solution! You don’t know until you know, so I get it. This is NOT an area that you to skimp on! Our bodies absorb everything that we put in it and on it. Let that sink in for a minute. The ingredients in our naturally based product line reflect on one area of my self care that I have been working on.

So, why is drug store shampoo so bad for your hair? The packaging of some of them is so pretty and the scent so lovely, right? Haha, that's how they reel you in. Let’s break down some of the common ingredients of some of the most common drug store shampoos.

◾️SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE: a cheap cleansing agent also found in harsh detergents, like engine cleaner. In many shampoos SLS is the base ingredient. If it can dissolve engine grease, as you can imagine it dissolves the natural oils of your skin creating dryness and irritation. In the natural shedding process the average person sheds over 100 hairs a day. During shedding the open hair follicles are vulnerable to SLS damage by drying and irritating them. Unfortunately once hair follicles die, they can’t come back.

◾️SILICONES: you probably swear by your Pantene or tresseme because it’s so shiny!.. but it’s the plastic. Silicones are plastics that fill in your hair’s porosity. It locks out water and even air. It gives the hair the appearance of a smooth shiny surface and that slippery-when-wet feel. Over time the silicone builds up on the hair- making it heavy, lifeless, and dull. Remember it locks out moisture, so the hair becomes dried out and becomes a sponge to dirt. You get very shiny hair for a couple of days, but over time not letting in conditioners will just have them sit on the surface and your hair will be one weak and brittle.

◾️SODIUM CHLORIDE: aka... table salt! Great on a baked potato, not so much your hair. This is used as a thickener in shampoos but can cause a dry and itchy scalp by stripping your scalp of its natural moisture.

◾️POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL or PEG: another thickening agent in shampoos that strips hair

◾️MINERAL OIL: engine oil’s cousin! So you probably don’t want that on your hair. Your products claim to have argan or macadamia oil in them but at the bottom of the ingredient list they usually have less than 5 percent and use mineral oil as a cheap filler.

◾️ PARABENS: prolong shelf life of products. They’re known for their toxic nature. Not only do they irritate the scalp but can cause hormonal imbalance which can lead to hair loss.
