Join The Milwaukee LGBT Community Center and partners for a Q&A with Sally Rubin filmmaker of Mama has a Mustache, a short, quirky, fully animated documentary about gender and family, as seen through children’s eyes. Driven completely by audio interviews of kids ages 5-10, the film uses these sound bites combined with clipart and mixed media to explore how children experience a world outside of the traditional gender binary. Live Q&A is Thursday, March 3 at 7pm CT. The film will be screened at the beginning of the event and you can also access the film anytime between Mar. 1 and Mar. 9. This event is open to the public; youth, parents, other adults, and supporters are welcome. Visit https://watch.showandtell.film/watch/mama_centerlink to register for access to the film and be sure to use the Q&A link to register for the live Q&A via Zoom on March 3.

Each year, the Center serves more than 800 individuals through counseling, case management, support groups, and resources/referrals. In addition, more than 1,500 individuals throughout the greater Milwaukee area receive customized outreach and educational programming to increase their cultural competency pertaining to the LGBTQ+ community. Areas that are critically underfunded and dependent on donations like yours are our Older Adult, Disabilities Program and Emergency Services. Listen to our Aging and Disability Coordinator, Christie Carter, talk about what inspired her to get into advocacy work https://mkelgbt.networkforgood.com/projects/147227-year-end-appeal?utm_campaign=dms_email_blast_1552961
