We are looking for your help again… Many children on the Northside live in extreme poverty. Our toy drive will benefit children at Ascension and other North Mpls schools. Ascension’s principal Benito Matias shared a story with us …One year, on Christmas Eve, he went to check in on a scholar who lived in a particularly challenging situation. He was bringing the family a grocery gift card to make sure they had food. When they opened their door, he saw the Christmas tree. It had one present underneath — the one the scholar had received from Ascension School. A majority of our scholars live in poverty that most of us can’t imagine.
