Can we talk about bo***ir photo shoots? The older I get, the more I highly recommend them. I don't care if you're married, single, dating, whatever your relationship status is does not matter-it's for YOU sister! When you get older and your body has changed dramatically, you will REALLY appreciate the images you captured of your beautiful self. AND maybe you are getting married and you want to surprise your spouse to be! I know this is a heavy topic-but if you get a breast cancer diagnosis, many women have a bo***ir session before they start chemo or have surgery-those images will be more meaningful than you can possibly imagine! I never share images publicly of bo***ir sessions that I have done, but I'm always happy to share ideas if you need them. Would you ever consider doing a bo***ir photo shoot? Why or why not?

Sneak Peek Rachel & Mitchel's wedding! Trent and I had the honor of photographing Rachel & Mitch's beautiful wedding on Saturday at the new venue at Troy Burne Golf Club called The Aisling. This was the first wedding at the new venue and everything was absolutely perfect! The whole staff went above and beyond, far exceeding our expectations. We definitely recommend The Aisling, it's a perfect space at a beautiful location.​​​​​​​​​

Rachel and Mitch picked the venue for their wedding because they love golf and it's located very close to their home. The found us by doing a Google search, at the time we didn't realize Bill Holst had purchased the Golf Course.

Some of our family & friends who know Bill Holst, fellow long time Oak Grove resident and local entrepreneur who bought Troy Burne last summer for roughly $7 million. According to an article in the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal: He built the wedding venue because he believed the golf course had more potential that just golf, said Ali Clasen, the Aisling’s manager. “With almost no wedding venues in western Wisconsin and east of the Twin Cities, we are in the perfect location for weddings and events,” Clasen said.

The venue is located near several hotels and is within a 10-minute drive of historic downtown Hudson.

Wrapping up my Fall sessions and thought I would share a few images of some of my fun family sessions that I've had the pleasure to capture the last few weeks! The weather/temps were so up and down this fall season, making it a challenge for families to plan for clothing. Being ready with different options for layers made it work. For those of you who have had me photograph your wedding, you know I deliver a slideshow preview just a few days after the wedding. To me, it's the best way to see your images for the first time (besides a small handful for a quicker sneak peek a day or two after). For McCayla & Jordan's wedding, McCayla came down the aisle on a horse to the Jurassic Park theme song (they both love Jurassic Park) and it was AMAZING! Yesterday was AMAZING!!! Things like vows, what brides and grooms say to and about each other on the wedding day are obviously very important, but what I really like to hear at a wedding is what the parents say. This wedding, was a wonderful example of a picture perfect scenario and my absolute favorite part was one of the (wonderful) things the groom's dad said in his speech about the bride: "I have her back, and I know she has mine". It reminded me of my own father in law and how his support has been very influential in the success of my own marriage. Family is everything. Congratulations Anna & Isaac, I can't thank you enough for choosing me to capture your wedding day! More coming soon!

Maddy & Daniel are living the DREAM on their hobby farm in Belle Plaine, I had so much fun doing this session and can't wait for the wedding next year at Almquist Farm in Hastings! Almquist Farm

I photographed a wedding yesterday at a venue that's new to me, Barns of Old Glory SUCH a cool spot, they have a zebra and a wonderful horse named Peaches who was such a good girl for photos with the bride & groom, even let the bride ride her down the aisle! Cannot wait to share the images! My favorite ring shot that highlights the venue name until I get the other images loaded:

I know, I never post here anymore....but here's one: I'm putting together a guest book for this gorgeous couple (Jordan & McCayla) who's wedding I am excited to be photographing in less than a month, and I could just pinch myself...am I dreaming? Words just can't express how it feels to capture beautiful images like this on our property. My husband and I spent a whole summer a few years back removing trees from this spot where this couple is standing to reveal this view from the half way point of our driveway. They are 10 feet away from the gravel driveway that I walk with my dogs every morning and have this view to take in...and I get to share it and document it every year with beautiful, amazing people. Just makes my heart so happy!
