Of all of our beautiful products, our Botanical Toner contains the most plants from our garden. We make a beautiful glycerine extract from lavender, clary sage, calendula, comfrey, borage, burdock, marshmallow, oatstraw and willowbark. Then blended with lavender hydrosol and witch hazel for a delicate, hydrating mist.

Just had a really wonderful facial at after a recommendation from . My skin was feeling crazy congested and certain areas were starting to get texturally problematic and breaking out. Which is common for me after a summer of slathering on SPF and hiking and camping. My pores get CLOGGED y’all. My favorite thing about the facial was the extent to which Celine did facial massage and gua sha. Just like anyone I get lazy in my daily routines but this facial reminded me to use my gua sha stones religiously! To keep stagnation at bay. This isn’t an ad, I was simply reminded that a beauty routine is all hands on deck. And it requires dedication and daily attention.

It’s that time of year again y’all! These went suuuuper fast last time. We end up with quite a few ‘imperfect’ Hair Powder bottles. Because of these imperfections—no matter how slight—we cannot sell these products at full price and we HATE waste, so we are offering them to you for this deeply discounted price. It’s the same great product inside! Just a little funky on the outside. Head to the website and get them while you can!

Back to the land of the living and after three days of no running water the first product I was craving was our Botanical Green Clay Mask that I used to scrub all the dirt and grime off my face. It goes deep to draw out black heads and clear any congestion in the skin. It’s a lovely reset with lavender, rosemary, clary sage, aloe and witch hazel.

Did you know our Cream Deodorant is similar to our Hair Powder in that it has a powder base? It is then blended with and oils to make for a wicking, emollient and odor fighting experience. We worked long and hard to design a natural that actually works! Available in our signature and and and black pepper.

Heading out to do some off grid / back woods / hike in camping this weekend and gaia knows I am not ready. The products I am bringing: our Bug Be**er: I spray it everywhere, including my boots to ward off ticks. Our Travel Sized Hair Powder: we will not have access to any showers or bathing for three nights so I will be using chinchilla levels of powder for bathing. And because our Travel Hair Powder is so small it packs perfectly in a back pack and still provides 113 applications. Also in my pack will go our Lavender + Clary Sage Cream Deodorant: great for the no bathing, it’s wicking, smells so fresh and can double as a pomade if need be. And lastly, I’ll bring our Big Stick Lip Balm because it is SO multi use: it not only helps chapped lips, it can be used to soothe any kind of dry skin or abrasion.

Sometimes running a small business can really suck. Especially when you’ve been doing it so long the equation for success changes over and over. Currently to succeed at owning a small, beauty retail outfit is creating content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That isn’t who I am sadly so I’ve had to take a hard look at what’s next for Lulu. Which keeps me up at night, truly. The one thing I can sleep soundly knowing though is our products are amazing. And reviews from customers who not only love them but ‘get it’….. is literally the only thing that keeps me going. Thanks Liz! And thank all of you for the support these long years.

Our plants are blooming right now! One of the key ingredients in our Big stick Lip Balm. It’s super emollient and so healing for delicate, sensitive or chapped skin. It is even helpful to spot treat eczema and psoriasis.

We’re having a little heat wave right now—as is most of the country—and our dry shampoo is the perfect product to use on these hot and sweaty days. It soaks up so much oil at the root of your hair you’ll be delighted at how clean it looks after. Unlike spray dry shampoos it doesn’t get sticky or tacky in any way and simply returns your roots to squeaky clean and brush-able. With seven gorgeous, essential oil fragrances you can’t go wrong.

Anyone else found themselves fighting recently? Well I did and boy what a bummer in the ! We have a handful of products made from what we call our oil: a combination of essential oils that is both anti microbial and immune boosting (you might also know it by another name but legally we can’t say that that is 😏) and they are soooo wonderful when sick. We drop our Resistance Oil in our shower for a lovely steam, slather our Sniffle Balm under our nose and chest to break up congestion and use our Hand Purifier and Alcohol Spray to clean hands and surfaces. We hope you aren’t sick this summer but just in case, we got you!

State of the world got you down? Us too. Our Lavender and Clary Sage Calming Balm can play a small part in bringing some peace of mind back into your life. Apply our Calming Balm to pulse points when you feel stress, before exercise, meditation or bedtime. Also good for menstrual cramps, apply to the belly when cramping.

Birthday appreciation post for the actress queen Shelley Duvall. Being an Altman stan I have grown up watching and loving her. Style for miles and definitely the perfect hair texture for some dry shampoo.

Ever wonder the difference between powder dry shampoos and aerosol? Why to use one over the other? Powder dry shampoo is applied to the hair using your hand or an application brush. It often contains ingredients like cornstarch, rice starch, and clay, which absorb oil and dirt from the hair, leaving it feeling clean and refreshed. Powder dry shampoo is often preferred by people with sensitive scalps or those who want to avoid using aerosol products. It also keeps the hair and scalp from being tacky or unbrushable as if hairspray was sprayed into it.

Aerosol dry shampoo contains flammable gases and chemicals, which can be dangerous if not used properly. The propellants in aerosol dry shampoo can cause skin irritation, respiratory problems, and harm to the environment. Additionally, inhaling aerosol sprays can cause dizziness, headaches, and other health concerns.

Aerating any powder into your face is not good for the lungs. Particulate matter—if it collects into the lung—is carcinogenic regardless of what it’s made from. As an asthmatic I cannot use any powder that is puffed or sprayed into the face which is why we prefer a shaker bottle to a pump or aerosol container. The more you know!

Garden update! After four years of a drought Minnesota is completely out of it from 18 (!) inches of rain this season. Our little herbs, flowers and veg are happy and confused. How’s your garden?

Happy ’s Day to all who celebrate this day. Our favorite ‘dad’ product is our oil. Inspired by the desert, it’s made with five luxurious carrier oils and an intricate layering of essential oils for the it’s very unique and musky scent.
