Thank you for your prayers and support for Abdul Karim and his family during this difficult time. Per the request of the family we are respectfully asking to discontinue visits effective immediately so that Abdul Karim can get some much needed rest. **Update on Incident Outside the Masjid**
As-Salaam Alaikum,
Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to share some positive updates regarding our brother, Abdul Karim Bilal. Following the unfortunate incident outside our masjid, Abdul Karim has successfully undergone surgery and is now in stable condition at the hospital. We thank Allah for his mercy and the medical team's exemplary care.
We also have significant developments in the shooting investigation. The authorities have apprehended the individual responsible, and he is in custody. This progress brings us closer to justice for Abdul Karim. It reinforces our commitment to safety and peace within our community. We want to thank Chief O'Hara and the MPD for their swift investigation and arrest in this case.
We are reviewing and strengthening our security protocols at Masjid AnNur in response to this incident. We are committed to ensuring the safety of all our members, those who receive services from Al-Maa'uun, and our broader community.
Abdul Karim and his family are deeply thankful for the overwhelming support, prayers, and well wishes. They feel blessed to be part of such a supportive community.
Let us all pray for Abdul Karim's swift and complete recovery. We will continue to provide updates as they become available. Your participation and vigilance are vital as we work together to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan, thank you for your continued support and understanding.
PER THE FAMILY'S REQUEST, FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO VISIT ABDUL KARIM BILAL, PLEASE LIMIT YOUR VISIT TO NO MORE THAN 15 MIN. ALSO, PLEASE RESPECT THE HOSPITAL'S VISITING RULES AND TIMES. THEY APPRECIATE EVERYONE WHO HAS VISITED, BUT ABDUL KARIM NEEDS TO REST.

Community Safety Alert: Incident Outside the Masjid
As-salamu alaykum,
We regret to inform you that there was a shooting outside our masjid yesterday after Asr prayers. Our brother, Abdul Karim Bilal, was shot multiple times in his arm and shoulder after asking a group of individuals who were loitering near the masjid to move. Unfortunately, after some words were exchanged, one of the men in a car drove off, made a U-turn, and returned, firing shots that wounded Brother Karim.
Alhamdulillah, Brother Karim is in stable condition, and we are grateful for your du’as during this difficult time.
We are actively working with law enforcement to ensure those responsible for this crime are brought to justice. The investigation is ongoing, and we will share updates as more information becomes available.
In light of this incident, we will hold a security protocol meeting today after prayer at approximately 5:30 PM. We encourage all community members to attend as we discuss how to respond to emergency situations and take steps to ensure the safety of everyone at the masjid.
Your safety and the safety of our community remain our top priority.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your understanding and support.
