🚨New Research Alert🚨
Using the Language Interaction Snapshot (LISn), we measured quality of language interactions between teachers and Dual Language Learners in PreK.
Bilingual programs with Spanish-speaking staff heavily favor English over Spanish, lacking effective language scaffolding for English acquisition. As DLL numbers rise and academic disparities persist, urgent practice changes are necessary. Improved language and early literacy foundation can drive meaningful academic progress.
