Amanda Ellison Music
Welcome to the comforts of hymns & home, scripture & stories from the heart of a preacher's daughter
What did you feast on today? Show & Tell! We've had a rainy 4th here in Minnesota. We found a window to grill burgers, sweet potato fries and broccoli salad. I made Napoleon's for dessert... puff pastry with an vanilla orange cream filling and strawberries.
Happy 4th of July! Honored to be a featured vocalist in this beautiful video rendition of the Star Spangled Banner by Motion Worship. It is always a joy to my heart to sing our national anthem. Thankful for all who have served our great nation and the sacrifices made. The flag still stands for freedom. Prayers for our country!
Singing with my family and spending time together is one of the greatest gifts in life. If you don't have your loved ones near this holiday week or have experienced loss then I pray your memories will bring you joy and comfort. This song has always been a favorite of ours, Farther Along. We always gather around and sing when we are together. This clip was taken when we vacationed in Colorado.
Welcome to my page, friends! I encourage you to hit the follow button and add me to your favorites so you don't miss a thing! I am deeply grateful for each person here!
I want to do an introduction for those new here!
My name is Amanda Ellison and I've been singing all of my life! I am a preacher’s daughter, I grew up in church and loved it. I witnessed my parents minister to people all of their lives! I am so thankful for the heritage of faithfulness they gave to me. Dad and mom are now retired in Arizona and I frequently feature them on my page. They both sing (to this day) & taught me how to sing. Singing was like breathing in our family!
I am married to Jim and we have 5 ADULT children! 3 boys and 2 girls. That includes TWO sets of twins. We are deeply blessed and our kids enjoy their privacy ❤️ my husband Jim is an extraordinary support to my ministry and travels with me everywhere I go. He is self proclaimed my #1 fan and he is the love of my life!
In 2017, I began ministering alongside another preacher’s daughter as a duo called The Preacher's Daughters we have sung together for 7 years throughout the midwest and have released videos of hymns that have reached millions of views to the glory of God.
This year I have entered into a new season of solo ministry. These days, you will find me singing concerts of hymns in churches through the upper midwest. I also sing for memorial services, special events, weddings, and church services. I love the great hymns of faith! I plan to continue pursuing the calling that God has placed on my life to sing the hymns. More to come on that! I am already working on some new arrangements of old hymns and I cant wait to share them with you!
Some of my favorite people on the planet are senior citizens! I sing concerts in senior communities and memory care as often as possible. They never forget the hymns! Our seniors have so much wisdom to give the world. I try to seek out their gifts and talents to share with others on this platform whenever possible.
I love ministering in song but I also love home life. You'll find me sharing not only hymns but snippets of home and family as well recipes here and there!
God bless you all and thanks for joining me on this journey! I'm so glad you're here. Be sure to like and follow my page and share with others to stay up to date on my ministry! If you are interested in hosting a concert or an event, feel free to reach out through messenger! (Website coming soon!)
Love, Amanda

A joy to sing at Deephaven Woods this afternoon. I met this dear woman named Flossie, she told me she is 100% Irish... the irony is, my great grandma's name was Flossie and she was also 100% Irish! Always a joy to make a new friend!
I had the joy of singing at Faith UMC of Brillion, Wisconsin this past Sunday. Pastor Dale Eggert is retiring from pastoral ministry this week. Pastor Dale has been a faithful shepherd, caring for his congregants, teaching and loving them like Jesus. It is truly an honor to call him friend. It was a blessing it was to share hymns and stories with old friends. The good people of Faith UMC made me feel so welcomed. At the end of the service, something happened that has never happened to me before... they sang a song back to me. I cried, I felt so cared for and loved. Thank you with all of my heart, friends for opening your doors to me.
Without a doubt, one of my favorite kind of events! If you live nearby please join us!

Singing with Seniors! I had the joy of singing hymns for the seniors at Cornerstone Senior Living in Plymouth yesterday! They blessed me so deeply and sang right along, I could hear this beautiful voice in the crowd singing out harmonies. Rich was a baritone in a southern gospel men's group. More than that, he was just a gem of a soul! Thank you for singing with me, Rich!
The day your children learn to walk they begin taking steps away from you, away from your loving arms and your protection. Our job as mothers is to prepare them for the journey ahead. We go from bandaging scrapes to tending broken hearts in what feels like warp speed. Feeling like it will never end and then suddenly wondering when the last time you held them on your lap might have been. When did they stop fitting in the crook of your arm? The days are long, the years are short... every old addage is unbearably true. So we set aside the things that can be delayed and we choose to grab onto the present. There are many worthy things but nothing more satisfying than spending the day in the midst of your offspring. I have 5 beautiful children, three boys and two girls. When they were little, the boys would tromp through the forest, building and breaking everything in sight, hollering back and forth to each other. All the while, the girls would quietly oooh and ahh over every little treasure nature had to offer. The boys have entered the gnarly world, they are no longer close at hand. Adventures with the girls are all the more precious. Watching them stroll along in tandem, absorbing their surroundings, stopping to share the magic with each other. An element of eternal spring woven into their steps, the tiny blossoms carpeting the forest floor, the brightness of newborn leaves, echoes of laughter. We take it all in. Grateful for creation, to walk in the midst of such splendor with one another. The changing of seasons, the growing of things, lives unfolding. And despite my melancholy spirit... I choose not to mourn days already gone but to accept new days, glory in them and thank God for the opportunity to see the beauty of spring alongside those who hearts echo the rhythm of my own. Thank you, dear Lord, for motherhood, the glorious beauty and gutwrenching pain of loving the children you gave me.
I sang for senior saints this afternoon and students this evening. I love the verse, God inhabits the praises of His people, Psalm 22:3... This ageless truth knows no age limits... from young hands lifted to withered hands clapping praises and everything in between... what a joy to see both ends of the spectrum engaging in worship to the Almighty Creator!
Discouraging or Amusing? You decide 😂
My very first sour dough loaf! Although, I have baked a lot of bread, I had never before tried baking sourdough bread! I was recently given a sourdough starter so I delved into the process this weekend. Now to slice it! Hope you've had a blessed weekend, friends! Any other bread bakers out there? I will post the YouTube tutorial I used in the comments below. It was very helpful
What are you thankful for today?
How do you take your coffee or tea?
Have you had a blessed Easter? From the beautiful sunrise this morning to our sunset walk, we have been celebrating our Risen Lord & Savior!
What did everyone make for Easter dinner?!
Everytime I sang in North Dakota, Harry was there. I will never forget the very first time he attended a hymns concert...he walked up to me wearing a blue sport coat and a gold belt buckle looking dapper! He thanked me for singing and asked me to pray for his wife. He told me he still drove to the nursing home every day to see his beloved wife.
The next time I saw Harry, he sought me out and with a quavering voice told me his precious wife had passed away. The last time I saw Harry at a concert, he sat there with tears streaming down his face as we sang, God Be With You Til We Meet Again. It was as if maybe he knew this would be the last time he saw us in concert.
Since then, every time I've been back in North Dakota, I have searched the crowds for Harry. I knew if he was there, he would seek me out. I found out, that Harry was now in memory care. Thankfully, in December I was able to stop in for a little while and visit with him in his new home. With tears filling his eyes, Harry told me once again about his wife, his farm, his crops, his family. He held my hands and sang hymns with me. Then he looked at me and said, 'I'm ready to go to heaven now'. He smiled and glowed and invited me to stay and watch a movie. If only...
This gentleman is one of hundreds of reasons why I am called to minister to our senior citizens. I love that these words and notes bring a small measure of comfort to each one that I have the joy of meeting. Until we meet again, Harry. You will forever hold a special place in my heart!
So, would anyone like to see a video on how to make homemade caramels? I have never published my recipe before, I neeed my mother's permission. Hoping this isn't as controversial as roasting a rotisserie chicken!
This phenomenal couple told me they could sing... so I said... pick a song! WOW! They blew me away
