Training in Botolan, Philippines Wrapping Up Today! 🇵🇭 As we conclude our first pastoral training in Botolan, Philippines, we're filled with gratitude for the transformative journey of 30 church leaders in 2 cohorts over the past 11 days. Highlights: A Diverse Group: Pastors from various backgrounds, some with Bible school training and others with none, uniting for a 3-year journey to rightly handle the Word of truth. Local Partner Jun: Based in Manila, Jun networks with tribal pastors across the Philippines, fostering connections and support. Prayer Focus: We ask for your prayers for the Lord's revelation through His Word, wisdom for our trainers adapting to the Zambales culture, and the formation of strong relational bonds among trainers and participants. News from the Field - Tefé Brazil - August 2023
The Lord heard our prayers!! Thank you for praying for the Amazon training. The Lord blessed the week in many ways as the pastors and ministry leaders learned how to study Old Testament Narrative, to see the point of the author, how each passage connects to the gospel, and how it should transform our lives today. Participants confessed that what they learned about the faithfulness of the Lord in Abraham’s life deeply confronted their culture. “Our culture teaches that even though God is merciful we must act perfect to be accepted. The church cannot see each other's faults, especially the failures of a leader. If someone isn’t perfect, then they can’t be a leader, therefore, they act like they are sinless, better than everyone else, and they don’t need to grow in the Lord. Only everyone else needs to mature. We are also taught that if you sin, you are put on the shelf." "In Genesis, we learned that Abraham, the father of faith, stumbled, but the Lord matured his faith over time. Through all of Abraham's ups and downs, the Lord remained faithful to His promises. In the end, Abraham could see that he could fully trust the Lord." "To truly be accepted by the Lord, I must rest on what God has done for me in Christ.” Please continue to pray for these pastors and church leaders, that the Word of God will transform their lives and churches.
