"If the work of Tim Russell ’69 strikes a chord, you’re probably more familiar with his voice than his face (that’s him in that illustration to the left). A longtime radio host in Minnesota, Russell also displayed his versatile vocal skills for many years on A Prairie Home Companion, hosted by Garrison Keillor, performing political and celebrity impressions and portraying Dusty in recurring “Lives of the Cowboys” sketches. In October, Russell was inducted into the Minnesota Broadcasters Hall of Fame. . . . "

The Pavek Museum in St.Louis Park Recreated the 1938 radio broadcast of "The War of the Worlds" with a cast of MN Broadcast Hall of Famers. Pat Reusse, Dave Lee, Eric Eskola, Kathy Wurzer, Freddie Bell, Nancy Nelson and yours truly, with Foley assist from Katherine Horowitz and Max Raymer.
The location names were changed to Minnesota locales, thus the Midwest farmer.

Last Saturday it was great to kick off the 50th Anniversary series of shows, through the next year, of Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion “ in Lancaster, PA at the beautiful American Music Theater. Fred Newman, Heather Masse, Nellie McKay, and Christine DiGiallonardo and her husband Ross Benoliel we’re all on board for classic scripts like “Guy Noir, Private Eye”. I had time to visit the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum, well worth a visit! I used to put ice in the top of Refrigerated rail cars, before they were retired in the early 70’s, as a college summer job
