Laurel is helping Serenity work on her fine motor and pre-writing skills! Fine motor skills refer to a person’s ability to control the small movements of the hands and fingers. Some common activities OTs implement to increase a child's dexterity include being able to cut with scissors, color with crayons and pencils, paint using a paintbrush, and play with small objects such as Legos, beads, playdough, and puzzles. Serenity is doing a great job following directions and getting those small movements down. It's amazing what just a few months of physical therapy can do to help a child! Aurora came to us at the end of June, 2023 with issues rotating her neck to the left- a very common condition in infants known as torticollis. Our PT, Stephanie, showed Aurora's parents how to help Aurora with stretches that would improve her cervical rotation, improve her ability to roll, and ultimately get her crawling! After just a couple months of PT, Aurora has officially graduated! She's crawling like a champ, and there's no stopping her now! Congrats Aurora!
