Camas: The Nature of the West
When former editor Katharine Hyzy first introduced this tagline in the fall of 2003, she wrote, “What makes the West what it is has more to do with what it inspires than the physical, tangible features of its terrain.” Our place, our politics, and our social fabric have changed a lot since she wrote those words. After 30 years of making Camas Magazine, we ask contributors to revisit, redefine, and reimagine what it is that the West inspires. Take it away! Spread the word!
It's here! The winter edition of Camas landed in our office just in time to carry us through the darkest days of the year. Locals can pick up a copy at Fact and Fiction Books or Shakespeare & Co. in Missoula, or head on over to camasmagazine.org/shop to order. Thank you so much for your continued support of this little student-run magazine!

Our theme for this issue is Flight —
To fly. Synonym: to flit, flutter, soar, swoop, glide. To take off, to migrate, to see the world from a new angle. Flight path, flight risk, fight or flight, flight of fancy. In this issue of Camas, we open our wings to all things aerial. Take us to the skies.
