CandyCot Breeding continues. Here is a new unnamed selection with great taste, very sweet (25 brix), and excellent firmness. Known now as “1061”, it soon may receive a name! It is going into trials next season to determine commercial potential. This will take a few years... Stay tuned.
We are sorry inform you that we are no longer producing CandyCots for commercial markets. We have removed our orchards. The reason for this is that we have struggled financially to find a way to produce crops which are profitable. CandyCots are poorly adapted to our climates, not producing crops every year, and any rain near harvest destroys the crop by cracking.
It is truly a shame that such wonderfully tasting fruit cannot be produced profitably. We have been operating at a loss each year, searching for a path to profitability. The hard decision was: we cannot see a path. So we have stopped production.
I am continuing to breed new CandyCot varieties, in the hope for finding new CandyCot varieties which can be produced profitability. This of course takes years of work.
Thank you so much for your loyalty. It is appreciated. We may announce in the future CandyCot partners who produce CandyCots for farmers markets or other small outlets.

Spotlight on those who bring you CandyCots: This is Gustavo. He is the field manager that makes sure CandyCots are harvested properly and delivered to the packing line timely.
Unlike other apricots, CandyCots are picked at the peak of ripeness. That means that we must take special care to make sure they are not bruised during harvesting and packing. Therefore, we pick into special totes that are lined with a formed plastic tray that gently "cups" the fruit and reduces bruising.
Quick spotlight on the people that bring you CandyCots. First up, logistics manager Javier. He is the one who puts the packed fruit into cold storage as it comes off the packing line. He also is in charge of loading the trucks that deliver the CandyCots to their destination.
