"The Sierra Vista Mentoring Program has been such an amazing experience because not only do I get to have an impact on someone who does not know what it is like to have a male figure in their life, but it is helping me grow at the same time. It has made me realize how important it is to set a good example for children, especially those with no guidance at home. Getting to see my mentee each week, in the beginning, was stressful because I wanted to make an impact immediately, but that was not going to happen. My mentee has warmed up to me, and getting to see him every week is so rewarding. I look forward to seeing the strides he is making educationally and emotionally.
