It doesn't take long in the summer heat for your car to get VERY HOT! You may think it's not a long time but even after 10 minutes temperatures can be dangerous to any people or pets left inside. Cracking the windows makes less than a 5 °F difference! Look before you lock!
A Heat Advisory is in effect until 11 PM Wednesday for the Valley, including Stanislaus County. High temps could reach over 110 °F in some locations. Practice heat safety & stay in a cooler place during the heat of the day! (10AM-7PM)

PG&E Officials have cancelled the Public Safety Power Shutdown for Stanislaus County due to updated wind forecast for Saturday. Other Counties may still be impacted by the PG&E PSPS.

⚠️PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT⚠️
PG&E customers in Western Stanislaus County in the Patterson, Newman, Crows Landing, Westley, and Grayson area, please be aware that PG&E is anticipating a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow, July 20, with the potential for the PSPS lasting 24 hours. PG&E has contacted the effected customers of the potential impact to electrical power service.
A PG&E Community Resource Center will be set up at the Newman Fire Station located at 1162 N St, from 1100-2000 on Saturday July 20th.
Available Resources at the station:
-PG&E Go Kits
-Electrical Outlets to Recharge Phones, Computers, Battery Packs
-Cooling fans
-Drinking water
-1 gallon bag of ice for community members

Don't forget your furry friends in the heat! NEVER leave your pet in a car! Even if the windows are cracked, it will still get DANGEROUSLY HOT very quickly! Practice heat safety by keeping your pets at home.
This is a great safety guide for children swimming in lakes and swimming pools. The color of the bathing suit can make it easier or more difficult to see children while they are swimming. This is a good reminder to always have adult supervision when children are swimming.

With the Excessive Heat Warning for this week, here are the signs and symptoms of Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke.
⚠️ Heat Stroke is a medical emergency and can lead to death! Please share this information with your family and friends.

An Excessive Heat Warning is now in effect for the entire Central Valley, including Stanislaus County Tuesday-Saturday, with Major to Extreme HeatRisk. This will increase the threat for heat related illnesses. Stay hydrated, find shade, and avoid being outside during the heat of the day! And don’t forget about your pets!

Widespread Major to Extreme HeatRisk is in store for interior Northern California, including Stanislaus County starting Tuesday of next week. This kind of heat will be VERY DANGEROUS to anyone without proper hydration or adequate cooling. Remember to practice heat safety!!
Widespread triple digit heat returns next week with MAJOR HeatRisk in the Valley and foothills Tue - Wed. This level of heat is dangerous to anyone w/o proper hydration or adequate cooling. Remember to stay hydrated & reconsider outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.
Widespread triple digits are expected in the Valley and foothills this afternoon, along with widespread Moderate HeatRisk. Remember to practice heat safety by:
✔️Drinking plenty of water
✔️Applying sunscreen
✔️Taking breaks in the shade
✔️Wearing light-colored clothing
Areas of Major HeatRisk along with widespread Moderate HeatRisk and triple digit temperatures are expected on Saturday. This will be the hottest day of the week so be sure to practice heat safety!
US National Weather Service Sacramento California has issued a Heat Advisory, which will go into effect from 11 AM to 8 PM this Saturday, June 22, 2024. Temperatures in the Valley & foothills will get into the triple digits with little relief from night time temperatures. Be sure to practice heat safety!
⚠️Large Wildland Fire in Copperopolis⚠️
CAL FIRE is on scene if a large wildland fire, off Aero Road and Hunt Road, Copperopolis in Calaveras County. The fire is currently estimated at 1,000 acres. Parts of eastern Stanislaus County may be impacted by smoky conditions.

The Red Flag Warning has been extended until 8 AM Tuesday for the Stanislaus County & adjacent foothills below 2000 ft. Gusty northerly winds + low humidity will lead to critical fire weather conditions. Always remember to practice fire weather safety!

Areas of Major HeatRisk is expected Monday through Wednesday with Tuesday as the hottest day this week. This level of heat will affect anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. Please be sure to try to stay hydrated and in a cool place as best as you can!
An Excessive Heat Warning continues for large portions of the Valley and foothills through this evening. There is major risk of heat stress/illness, esp for those without effective cooling or hydration. Remember to hydrate avoid being outside during the heat of the day!
Don't forget about your fuzzy friends during the heat! Ground surfaces warm up more than the air above it, and if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your pet's little paws! Consider walking your animals earlier in the day, before the ground has had a chance to heat up.

An Excessive Heat Warning for the Central Valley continues to be in effect from Tuesday morning into Thursday evening with Major HeatRisk and widespread upper 90s and 100s anticipated. Be please sure to make your heat safety plans before our approaching heat event☀️

A large vegetation fire in Alameda County in the area of W Corral Hollow Road is causing smoky conditions in Stanislaus County.
Firefighters are battling a 450 acre fire in the Livermore Lab area W Corral Hollow. (Alameda County).
