We still are in awe of how incredible the house looks. The boys are absolutely loving the new addition of the skatepark in their very own backyard. No more trips into town - they can shred right here (with us)! We can’t express enough how grateful we are for this community that helps us provide experiences and tools for the boys!
Cesar was one of our first residents at Brad’s House and we cannot believe the ways that he’s grow along with us. Last month he came out to our Backyard Bash and spoke about this experience with Brad’s House. He also turned 18 recently and is planning on joining the army! We’re so incredibly proud of him and all that he’s accomplished since we met him almost 5 years ago! Thank you for letting us be apart of your success story Cesar!
Brad’s House operates as a Quality Residential Treatment Program in Colorado. We have created our own program based off of the TBRI method that was created at the Institute of Child Development. We’re so grateful to be able to help the at-risk youth of Colorado navigate a tough time and gain the tools and skills they need for adulthood.
Brad’s House is proud to announce that we are in the process of opening our second location in Pueblo, Colorado! We’re currently in the process of remodeling the property and getting it ready to house 6 more beds here in Colorado. We cannot wait to have a grand opening and offically announce the opening date. More information to come soon!!
We’ve got a HUGE announcement coming VERY soon. We are so excited to be able to show you guys a sneak peek into our newest project. What do you think it’s going to be? Comment it below!
We just wanted to thank everybody who came out to the backyard bash and helped make it a successful event! We are so proud to have been able to invite the community to come out and see what we’re all about here at Brad’s House! We’re also very excited to say that we’re getting these Brad’s House Tee-shirts ready to be sold online! We’ll have more details soon - thank you all so much for the love and support!
Will we see you Thursday at our Backyard Bash?! We’re so grateful to be able to put on this event and show the community what Brad’s House is all about! RSVP at the link in our bio and come out and see what the buzz is about
Our staff is unlike any other. Their dedication to our kids and helping them create tools to be successful for the rest of their lives is truly the best part of our program. We are so incredibly grateful to be able to create a nurturing environment not only for the boys, but for our staff as well.
Brad’s House is having an open house on August 11th and YOU are invited! If you’ve ever wondered what it is that Brad’s House does, how you can help with time or money, OR just wanted to see the house - this event is for you! RSVP by clicking the link in our bio
We are so grateful to be able to share experiences like these with the boys. Every summer we take the boys camping for a couple of weekends. Our first trip this summer was an absolute HIT! The boys completed a service project for Knights of Heros to ensure they see the value in helping others who help you. This trip we dug a line from the cabin at the top of the hill to the bottom! The boys absolutely crushed it!
QRTP Stands for Quality Residential Treatment Program. Colorado created this program after the First Family Act passed. Our journey to transition from a group home to a QRTP was a long road, but being on the other side - we wouldn’t have traded anything about the experience!
What’s it like working at Brad’s House?
We asked a few of our employees their viewpoints on what it’s like to work at Brad’s House and we feel this pretty much sums up all the fun work we do around here!
What was your favorite part?
We’ve been getting a lot of messages and calls asking how donors can help us over the summer vacation. We’re so grateful for everybody’s help and support and we wanted to share the ways you can help us!
We’d LOVE to introduce you to our founders - Nick & Samantha Thompson!
Their journey to create a program that helps at risk youth and meet them where they are at has been a long and windy road, but they wouldn’t have changed it for the world!
We can’t wait to show you more about Nick, Sam and Brad’s House Journey!
We’ve got an Open House at Brad’s House at the end of the summer!
Join us on August 11th from 4:30 - 6:30 for our open house fundraiser for back to school! We wanted to be able to open our doors to our current and new donors and show you guys the ins and outs of Brad’s House!
More information will be posted as it is available, but who wants an invite when they are ready? Raise your hands in the comments ✋🏼
The good news just keeps on rolling in... our staff room in Brad’s House got a MAJOR facelift after the holiday season. We are so excited to be able to change this room up and be able to provide our staff with all the tools they need to help our kids AND also feel comfortable while taking breaks and getting paperwork done. What’s your favorite part of the new office set up?
Meet Samantha (aka Sam) Thompson!
She has been a part of Brad’s House since the beginning and has helped this organization grow and blossom into what it is today.
Sam is the HR / Billing department of the non-profit, however she wears many hats and is always helping in anyway that she can!
Brad’s House wouldn’t be half of what it is without her and we are so grateful to have her a part of the team!
We’re so incredibly grateful to be able to say that Brad’s House is season ticket holders to THE ROCKIES! We love being able to come out and cheer on the local teams and show our support to them. We’re so grateful for the donors and staff members who make this happen. Thank you Rockies for putting on fun events for the staff to enjoy!
Do you know about the TBRI Model?
It is a HUGE part of our program here at Brad’s House, and we’re so excited to share it with you.
TBRI stands for Trust Based Relational Intervention. “TBRI is a therapeutic model that trains caregivers to provide effective support and treatment for at-risk children.”
This model was created by Dr. Karyn Purvis from the Institute of Child Development. There are three main steps to the TBRI model: Connecting, Empowering, and Correcting.
Want to learn more about the TBRI Model? Let us know what you’d like to know!
You know we had to add the Brad’s House touch to the deck remodel. It wouldn’t be the same without our hands and flare. Who’s hands do you think these are?
What is a QRTP? QRTP Stands for Qualified Residential Treatment Program and Brad’s House is proud to be a part of this program in Colorado. QRTPs work with youth struggling with psychological, behavioral, abuse and substance issues. Brad’s House provides live-in services to these youth and offer them the support and guidance they need. What are some questions you have about QRTP and how Brad’s House transitioned into one? We’re answering all your questions on next week’s Q&A
Brad’s House School is such a need for some of our residents and we’re so glad to be able to do it. We saw this as a need for our kids. With being a QRTP we see a lot of different kids with different needs. By creating a school we’re able to not only meet our current kids where they are, but also be able to offer this program to future residents who will need this.
We’ve got so many cool things in the works for Brad’s House this year! What is something you’d like to see us do this year? Comment it below - we’d LOVE to know!
