Seriously in my top 3 favorite activities to do 🥹🩵
My son completely WRECKED my original version of this painting. But…. It ended up being a favor to me. The new version came out so much better than the original. 🦋
It took me 3 years to gain any type of momentum. If you give up here where you are, you’ll never get there where you want to be!
I cant expect anyone to love my art if i dont love i dont love it first. Its not conceited to love what you create. Although, by definition this means excessively proud of oneself. (Somehow weve made this a negative thing) be your own best cheerleader! 📣 Lesson of the day: love what you make love what you do, otherwise, why are you making it?
Everything, and I mean everything comes in waves. Your creativity will be higher some days and lower in the next , your motivation will waiver day to day, your sales WILL fluctuate. One day you may make 10+ sales and there may be months where you make 10 or less sales, especially in the beginning. If this isn’t something you can handle, I would not recommend being an artist, because growth will take years. I’ve always said, ride the waves. Everything that leaves, comes back again. 🌊 🌊
And I’ll have a blast doing it too. Originally this started out as things I “wouldn’t” paint but there was literally only 2 things I could think of. Then I thought focusing on the positives is better.
For the past few years I have refused to give in. (And truly my art has improved because of that) There have been times where there’s been more than a week between sales, in the beginning it felt like clawing myself out of a dark hole begging for someone to see me. But I didn’t give up. I kept going; I will keep going. I will succeed at this or die trying.
Why to never use black paint:It takes away from the focal point of the paintingIt can appear dull, or flat Using your own mixed "black" adds so much more depth and depending on your color palette there's many different ways to make it. Let me know if you try it!
