come see us for all your heating and air conditioning needs! All this can seem daunting to a new homeowner, and can be a nuisance to keep up with.
A-Z HVAC is a small company specializing in residential and light commercial repair (of air conditioners, heat pumps, gas furnaces, and oil furnaces), and excellent service. Although I have only been open for business for one year, that is because I was waiting until I was completely licensed, insured, and equipped to handle any scenario before opening, and now- after working for the biggest comp
anies in the area for 10 years-I have acquired the tools, skills, knowledge, and experience to fix any problem with your HVAC, and I'm committed to providing excellent service at a reasonable price. fully licensed and insured, i charge 65$/hr, with most issues that don't require ordering parts being solved in an hour, along with most single unit services. This charge is mostly all overhead going towards gas, insurance, license fee's, but I strive to be affordable, and will give breaks where possible. Everything breaks down eventually, call for a preventative maintenance (tune-up) and hopefully we will catch it before it leads to an uncomfortable day or two waiting on a technician or parts. There's varying amount of maintenance that should be done for different units in different seasons, as follows. All air conditioners should have drains cleared in the spring/summer and bleach or drain tablets put in traps, capacitors checked in indoor and outdoor units. pressures checked, amp draws checked, electrical connections tightened, and the coil cleaned outdoors (the indoor coil is harder to clean, should be kept clean by filter, and is more as needed). All gas furnaces have a flame rod that needs cleaned every year (supposedly, but not a bad practice) and should have the gas pressures checked (sometimes regulators have springs weaken with age which reduces gas pressure and results in incomplete burn), along with the daisy safety chain (all the safety's), capacitors, amp draws, along with overall shape of furnace, and if unit has PVC fluepipe (unit is 90% efficient+) and thus has drain system that needs cleared. Oil furnaces are filthy and require annual service after oil is delivered, should have filter and nozzle changed every year, along with assembly cleaned, and filter cannister. it is also good for efficiency (and safety if it goes too long) to schedule a full cleaning of the heat exchanger every couple years, although this can take several hours. also need lines bled in certain instances, and should have transformer, safeties, and overall condition of system checked yearly. Heat pumps have all the same things to check as air conditioners, minus the drain as heat pumps don't produce water inside during the winter, and the outside coils usually don't get cleaned in the winter as most hoses are put up and its done in the summer. there is the whole defrost cycle to check- but if you are trying to save money it is my opinion you could get by with just a spring service, and just have the defrost system checked if you notice a lot of ice build up or unit is not heating. Although I am happy to share knowledge (stay tuned for more how to videos to be uploaded) often for peace of mind and simplicity, it is just easier to have a trained professional come in and take care of it all for you. Give us a call at (828) 578- 9364 for the best service around, and we will get you ready for the summer and have you sitting comfortably!
