A brief history of Hibachi.

Hibachi (fire bowl) is a traditional heating device, it can be round or square.

It is smaller than the bigger “Grills” that we have today in America, also called Teppanyaki.

Some of the first Hibachis were made of cypress wood lined with clay.
In Japan back in the day, metal wasn't accessible.

In English, “hibachi” often refers to small cooking grills typically made of aluminum or cast iron, with the latter generally being of higher quality.

Records show hibachi appeared in Japan around by 79–1185 AD (Heian Period).

If you haven't checked this off your bucket list, I highly recommend doing so. Nature is amazing.

Stopped by Skinny Dip Falls off the BRP Looking Glass Rock Overlook to get acquainted with the famous Dragon Tree. This tree was purposely bent to mark the trail by the native Cherokee for easier navigation. It just so happened to grow into a magnificent dragon. How cool is that? Pretty cool I'd say.

Unfortunately, the falls suffered severe erosion due to floods and heavy rains. It's still there, but just a shell of it's former luster.

I've always had an affinity for aviation and flight of any kind. Jets in particular. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to sit behind the cockpit of one of these incredible machines. Always wanted to be a pilot like my dad. Maybe in another life...
