We will be closing at 1pm on July 4th in observance of Independence Day, so that all of us can spend some time with our families. We appreciate your understanding and we will re-open Friday morning at 6am

To serve you better than ever, we’re finishing up our total remodel of our kitchens with state of the art equipment and reopening Friday October 20th at 6:00am. Look for our dining room updates over the next 4-6 weeks. See you all Friday.
In an effort to continue serving our community in the best way possible, and in entering our 45th year of business, we will be closing for renovations. From October 9th - 17th, we will be doing a major kitchen upgrade, as well as front of the house cosmetic changes. We will be reopening on October 18th at 6am, see you then. Our Story
A Morton Grove favorite for over 40 years, Kappy's American Grill serves award-winning breakfast, lunch and dinner to Chicago and the surrounding north suburbs. Originally built as a Tops Big Boy, Gus Alpogianis, our founder and father, saw something here. He purchased it and opened Kappy’s Restaurant and Pancake House on November 24, 1979. After his sons, George and Manolis worked here for years, Gus asked them to move on and work at other places so that one day they could bring back some of the good that was learned in other establishments. In September of 1998, the sons returned and started alongside of their father. They began with the restaurant’s 2nd major remodel and revamped the menu, keeping the classics as well as introducing fresh and new ideas to it. In September of 2012, the restaurant went for a 3rd major remodel and opened it up to a fresh new look and changed the name to Kappy’s American Grill, now focusing their efforts on made from scratch meals and home style classics. Their already busy breakfasts have now been complimented by great lunch sandwiches and salads, classic entrees and others with a more modern flair. Buttermilk Fried Chicken, BBQ Ribs and Award winning Greek Chicken lead the way on weekends, with a All you can eat Fish Fry on Fridays and Prime Rib on Saturdays. Kids eat free on Sundays after 2 PM, as family dining is the main focus of the restaurant. Visit our newly-renovated space with full bar service.
