Hello, I’m an artist based in Wisconsin, specializing in textured floral art made with acrylic paint.

🌲How was your weekend? We had beautiful Wisconsin weather, so it was walks outside everyday and I loved it! 🌲 Here’s what I’ll be up to this week….

1. Enjoy the season. ❄️ I can’t believe how relaxed this holiday season has been! We got all our shopping done earlier in the year and had our family celebration earlier this month. Now we get to just enjoy the calm and quiet, and reflect on the year (and it’s been a FANTASTIC year!). Highly recommend it! 👍

2. Work on my (super exciting 😬) Excel spreadsheet for 2023. Shows, commission pieces, consignments, and wholesales are all done for the year and I like to get that data into one place. It’s not the glamorous side of being an artist, but it’s got to be done, so I put my accounting cap on and crunch numbers, usually seated on the living room floor while the cats try to make nests in the papers. 🐈‍⬛ 🐈

3. Work out specifics for a piece I’ve had in my head for a while. I want to do a really big sculptural piece just for me. All one color (I think… still haven’t quite decided. Maybe neutral ombré?) with lots of different flowers. Either one big rectangle or four squares that go together to make a big statement piece. I’ve experimented creating a smaller piece in all matte white and really loved the outcome!

This lovely piece was a commission for a lady who loved my Love Letter pieces and wanted to personalize the concept even further. She gave me so much creative freedom and I just loved the whole experience! 💕

🌲How is it Monday already? This past week flew by! 🌲

The last Saturday was so much fun and I enjoyed meeting all the new people! 🥳 These are a few of the pieces that went to new homes, including the last two pictures of “That Country Feeling”, which was my favorite piece at the market! 😍 It was snapped up as a gift for a grandmother who sounds like the loveliest person. She was a kindergarten teacher who now raises sheep, can you believe it? So amazing!

I’m taking a To Do List break this week. I’m allowing myself the freedom to do what I want to do, when I want to do it, because sometimes that’s just what is needed! The To Do list will be back next week.

Happy Monday, everyone! 💕

Up close and personal with some new over-the-top florals. 😍 These pieces are maximalist to say the least!

There are two 4”x4” floral squares and one mini which will all be available. Catch them tomorrow, Friday December 1st at 12/noon CT, and welcome in the holiday season! 💕

Happy Monday! How was your holiday weekend? We were on the GO, so it feels great getting back into the usual weekly routine. 😊

Here’s what I’ll be up to this week:

1. New pieces for the website! 🎉 You all have been so patient as I’ve focused on markets the last few weeks. I haven’t forgotten about you! I’ve got two brand new floral squares and a mini that are on the design table as we speak, and you’ll get first dibs. I hope to have them listed by Friday, so keep your eyes peeled! 👀

2. Time to haul out the winter decorations. We have snow on the ground that’s sticking around, so I’m especially inspired to get out the decorations. I don’t have a ton, but I’ve been collecting bottle brush trees for several years now and also just started collecting ceramic trees. I found two little ones on vacation in Spain last year that somehow accidentally fell into my suitcase for the trip home. Funny how that works! 🌲 My latest tree is an adorable piece from . Check out her page, she’s super talented!

3. My new studio is currently on hold as the builders have pushed out the start date. That makes me sad, but also gives me a chance to do a deep clean and sort through of all my supplies in my current space, i.e. the dining room. 😄 So that’s my final to do for the week: get art things sorted and organized, so I’ll have more time to enjoy the last few months of the year and have a fresh start to 2024!

Pictures of some of the newest florals I have right now. Catch them at the Holiday Market on December 9th, or possibly online, if I get the chance to list them before hand!💕

It’s Monday! That means it’s time for my weekly To Do list…

1. Create the newest batch of magnets. 🌼 It feels like a lot of my To Dos in the last few weeks have been magnet related, but when you all love them so much, I keep making new ones! These are going to be either super bright or deep and moody. All spring and summer people loved the light ones, but now with winter on the way you’ve all been going for the rich tones! ❄️

2. Pack for the . I cannot wait! Madison is such a fun city and we always have the best time. We’ll get to see family in the area as well, so that’s always a bonus.

3. Take time to be grateful. ⏳ Life is FLYING by and too often I’m on to the next task without ever taking time to appreciate the moment and truly live in it. So this week in honor of thanksgiving, I’m working especially hard on finding specific things I’m grateful for. Who knows, maybe I’ll share them on here with you! 😊

This piece is on its way to its new home today. Thank you for your continued support, all you beautiful humans!💕

I hope to see you all on November 24th for some fun, local Black Friday shopping! 💕

Photos from Julia H Studios's post 11/02/2023

Some brand new fresh florals will be available on my website on tomorrow, Friday the 3rd of November, at 12/noon CT. 🌼 This soft blue piece covered in iridescent white hydrangea blossoms is one of them. You all suggested a soft yellow for the flower’s centers and I love the outcome! 😍 I went with two different shades of yellow to bring in some subtle depth. What do you think? 💕

We got SNOW today! ❄️ That meant I had some free time to really get into the creative groove this morning. Long-time Facebook friends will remember how much I love a snow day, a cappuccino, a classic tv show, and my paints! ☕️

Check out those little green variations on the petals in the first picture and the white roses with pink tips in the last picture. 🌹 Mixing colors for piping doesn’t always work the way you want it to, but it’s so rewarding when it pipes exactly how you envisioned! 💕

🌸 My Monday to do list for this week.

1. Multiple siblings and their families are coming into town this week. Coming from a large family, it’s tough staying in daily contact with everyone. I love catching up with everyone when they come for a visit (or when I hope on a plane to see them!) ✈️

2. Stock up on canvases and wooden panels. My most popular sized piece is 4”x4” and I’m completely out of those! Any special colors or flowers you’d like to see at the markets this holiday season? Let me know and I just might incorporate them into some of the upcoming pieces!🌸

3. Send out these stunning florals. When I took this piece off the display wall, my husband said, “you’re really going to miss this one, aren’t you?” And yes, I sure will! Those soft variegated purples and peachy pinks, and THE TEXTURE. Oh my! 😍 I hope you love it just as much as I do.

💐 My Monday to do list for this week:

1. Create loads of magnets! I’ve got 64 ready to go, but need another 200+ for the upcoming holidays. So many of you have said they make the best stocking stuffers, so I want to have a fantastic selection for everyone to chose from. 🌸

2. Take an inventory of all my paints and see what colors need to be purchased. I’ve gotten terribly disorganized with my paints and there’s been a few times I’ve run out of the color in the middle of a creative session, and nobody has time for that! 🤦‍♀️

3. Work on Christmas ornament designs. Last year I made little mini ornaments/tags (scroll down my feed far enough and you’ll find them. So cute!) and larger, 3-4 inch ones. I also pulled out all the stops and did so much glitter and metallic paint that I was cleaning it up for weeks afterwards! 😄 But like they say on the TV show Miranda - “such fun!”

Summer Loving, 6”x6” sculpted acrylic paint on gallery wrapped canvas.

I love how the soft pink canvas is the background for the whites, creams, and richer pinks of the florals! If you look closely, you’ll catch some soft iridescent sparkle and subtle gold accents.💕

This piece is about as bright and cheerful as you can get! ☀️

This piece got shipped out last week, but I just needed to share all the cheerful colors! ☀️

I had originally painted the bright blue canvas for a different floral color combination which ended up not coming together, so it sat rejected on the “in progress” shelf for months.

As time went on I tried different flowers and colors, but the blue always overpowered everything until these light purples, teals, and whites were made. 🌸 Now I don’t really understand color theory, so in my mind the colors all magically came together! 😆 Instead of the canvas being obnoxiously loud, the flowers brought out the best lights and tones from the blue and became an incredible, balanced, eye catching piece.

I really love how it ultimately turned out and I’m so glad someone else thought so too! 💕

A fresh new floral square! 🌸 I love the combination of bright purple, lightest pink, and mellow orange. 😍

I’ve always been a very tactile person and experiencing different textures through touch is so satisfying. Maybe that’s one reason why I love this style of art so much. Not only are the florals fun to touch, they’re visually interesting. Depending on lighting and angle, each piece can appear a little differently every time you look at it!

These pieces (and many more!) are coming with me to the Spring Market this Saturday, May 6th from noon-5pm. I’ll be at the , so stop by and say hi! 💕

Thank you for the absolutely lovely write up, Madison Makers Market!

What’s on my to do list for this week:

1. Replenish my flower stock. I tend to go through moments of wild creativity and use up nearly all of my flower stash on new pieces! I love making the flowers though and want to try daffodils for the first time.

2. Start contacting builders and get the art studio project moving. I’m tired of my painting things being all over the dining room and kitchen!

3. Edit my new booth set up before the next art show (May 6th in Madison, WI !). I love my new display! It’s super easy to set up and visually minimal, so the florals really pop. There’s just a few things I want to add/change. I want to lose the big sign and the annoying struggle it is to attach it to the table (no more fishing line, thank you very much!). Instead, I want a custom name decal at the top of the display for fancy-shmancy art gallery vibes. It’s going to look so good!

Probably my favorite roses to date 😍 Just don’t ask me to make them again, because I don’t know of I can! Every once in a while you get the perfect color combo with the perfect piping day and magic just happens. 🎉

Happy Monday, everyone! 😊 Here are some happy florals for a bright and cheerful day 💕

My To Do list this week:

1. Apply for the art shows I’ve had my eye on for while and haven’t yet signed up.
2. Discuss my vision for a new art show display set up with my Dad who is a bob the builder and can make anything!
3. Do research on flower types and continue expanding my styles (coffee table books about flowers from used book stores are perfect for this!)

2 Woodland Minis, 3”x3” sculpted acrylic paint on canvas. Available now 💕

Shop update coming Tuesday, February 21st at noon CT!

So many flowers! Yesterday was such a productive and creative day, and I completed so many pieces that had been waiting for their special finishing touches. The colors and textures are even more incredible in person! 💕

I’m working on cleaning and tidying my “studio space” (a.k.a the dining room 😁) and noticed all the bright colors in the winter sun. 😍 So cheery! 💕

This love letter is the last one left of the Love Letter pieces! 🌸 Not sure if I’ll be making more in this collection, at least not any time soon. Too many other fanciful floral ideas floating around my head! 💕

🎉 Happy 2023! 🎉

I enjoyed the last two weeks of 2022 resting, spending time with family and friends, and getting ready for the new year, and now I’m back to my beloved florals! 🎨

During the last four years, I’ve set five personal goals that I want to achieve for the year. Resolutions don’t work for me, but for some reason calling it a “goal” does. Last year one of my goals was transitioning out of plastic shopping bags. It took me a while, but that habit is now solidly set! 💪

This year, I want to take that five goals idea and use it for my art. The first two of the year-long goals I’ve come up with are these:

1. A New Studio. I’ve grown out of my little art area and now the dining room is usually taken over with an explosion of paint, canvases, tools, and flowers. Our house has a strange little three-seasons room off the kitchen that I will be renovating over the course of the year to be used solely for art. No more eating on the sofa or finding cat hair in my piping bags? I can’t wait! 😄

2. Design a Better Market Set-Up. I’ve been so inspired by the vendor booths at the last two maker’s markets. Sellers take such care in the look of their display and the simplicity of setup/takedown, and some are absolutely beautiful! A booth setup is a direct image of a brand and I want to build mine to best showcase my art.

I’m hoping to take all of you along for the journey this year as I work towards completing these goals, and I’ll definitely need you all to hold me accountable! You’ve been such a lovely and supportive community in 2022 and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in 2023 💕

Hi everyone! I just wanted to wish you all a very wonderful week 🌼 I’ve been enjoying lots of family time and some much needed rest and relaxation. It feels like there’s so much energy expended leading up to the holidays that I kind of crash during the final week of the year. But you know what, we don’t need to be going, going, going all the time! It’s okay to rest and I’m taking full advantage of the final week of 2022! 💕

Photos from Julia H Studios's post 12/18/2022

What a fantastic holiday market last night! I’m still on a high from it all 😄 It was amazing meeting so many of you and putting faces to the names! There were even a few lovely Facebook friends who waited in line in order to be the first ones at the booth 🥰 Your kindness and support mean I can continue doing what I love and I am extremely grateful to each one of you.

These are a few of the pieces that were snapped up (tag me in your social media posts; I love to see how they get displayed!) 💕
