The Sandhills Kenny Wright Memorial Youth Hunt is coming up fast September 28th at Morgan Hunt Club 26222 Marston Rd in Laurel hill NC. This is a free event for hunters up 17 years of age hunting deer with dogs on National Hunt and Fish day. This is a hunt with shotguns only shooting buckshot. Along with the hunt free breakfast and lunch are provided for all involved along with an event tshirts for each hunter. Along with the hunt we will have door prizes for the hunters and s***t shooting after lunch. All hunters will need their NC big game report cards regardless of age. This will be our 10th year of giving young hunters a day of fun in the great outdoors and we are looking for to another great day in the woods. A few of our Executive Members have teamed up with Forsyth Country Day School and created this beautiful Pollinator Garden! The students and faculty will get to experience many different flowering plants and insects at work everyday in the Pollinator Garden
We want to send a Huge Thank you to Randall Patterson Richard Harrington and Gerald Malmo for putting so much hard work into this project! We would also like to Thank the Administration as well as students and faculty at FCDS for allowing us to create a new habitat on your campus!
Great partnership with the Yadkin Valley Wildlife Federation! They are providing in-kind landscaping for some of our natural areas. Thank you to alumni parent Gerald Malmo and our fantastic facilities team for your help. Check out the waterfall! More pollinator gardens to come.

Browntop millet - 4,650 lbs (93 - 50 lb bag) - recommended to plant 186 acres @ 25 lbs per acre.
Buckwheat - 1,050 lbs (21 - 50 lb bags) - recommended to plant 21 acres @ 50 lbs per acre.
Milo - 1,500 lbs (300 - 50 lb bags) recommended to plant 2000 acres @ 7.5 lbs per acre.
Sunflowers - 2,100 lbs (42 - 50 lb bags) recommended to plant 700 acres @ 3 lbs per acre.
Clover - 250 lbs (50 - 5 lb bags) recommended to plant 83 acres @ 3 lbs per acre.
Corn - 3,000 lbs (60 - 50 lb bags) recommended to plant 860 acres @ 3.5 lbs per acre.
Japanese Millet - 2,600 lbs (52 - 50 lb bags) recommended to plant 104 acres @ 25 lbs per acre.
Total Seed distributed - 28,650 lbs (over 14 tons)
Total Acres recommended to plant - 3,954 acres (a little over 6 square miles)
6 SQUARE MILES OF HABITAT!
