Was just thinking this today.
A man saw a snake burning to death and decided to take it out of the fire. When he did, the snake bit him causing excruciating pain. The man dropped the snake, and the reptile fell right back into the fire.
So, the man looked around and found a metal pole and used it to take the snake out of the fire, saving its life.
Someone who was watching approached the man and said: “That snake bit you. Why are you still trying to save it?”
The man replied: “The nature of the snake is to bite, but that's not going to change my nature, which is to help.”
Do not change your nature simply because someone harms you. Do not lose your good heart…. but learn to take precautions.
Helping those who are hurting may bite.. they may not be receptive. But don’t change the amazing person that you are.
Hurting people hurt people... But healed people heal people too.♥️

Oh my gosh!!! I'm just seeing all my happy birthday's from everyone. I'm truly humbled, seriously. I will personally say thank you to each of you over the next few days.
The past couple of years have pushed me to emotional lows I never wish on anyone. So many unexpected changes in my life and so many emotional train wrecks. It hasn't been pretty. Yes, I'm a therapist, but I can tell you and my clients that I have experienced some pretty tough stuff myself. Actually, it was a therapist who helped pull me from the depths of emotional hell where I wanted to leave this earth for good. I can't say I don't have days like that still, because I do. But with medication, therapy, and you guys...seriously...the people in my life that show up...reach out..take a minute of their day to say Happy Birthday, or just check in. It's truly you....that keep me going.
So, if you ever find yourself in the mindset that you don't matter (as I do somedays)...I assure you, you do. So much more than you think.
Great news!!! Big Heart Journey, Inc. was just established as a 501c3, non-profit. Now on to getting funding so we can start bringing veterans and PTSD sufferers to the farm to work with the mustangs we have. I’m so excited for this next step in our journey.
This is awesome!!!
