Shoreline Lake wanted to let everyone know that Stanford's BRIDGE Lab is seeking participants, ages 5-17, for a new study (They asked if we would help spread the word.). Given their affiliation with the Stanford School of Medicine, and as this is a pediatric clinical neuroscience lab, researching behavior and neurodevelopment under a genetic lens to help kids, we're happy to do so.
Details can be found in the flyer (pictured), or via this link (http://redcap.link/nf1_study). And, if you think this research could be useful to someone, please forward the info.
Many thanks from the study's outreach team!!!π
Shoreline Lake's Bastille Day celebration starts tomorrow, and goes through Sunday!!!π€©π₯³
Why Bastille Day? Besides the Independence Day theme this month, there's a strong French culinary tradition that underpins the American Bistro's offerings. And, this gorgeous respite "looks like something straight out of a Georges Seurat painting" β boats on the water, a view of nature, and perhaps a glass of wine with friends and family on the Bistro patio...π
That French influence means the Bistro will not only highlight its house-made real French pastries, but also add a number of time-honored French dishes to the menu. This year, the savory dishes are:
π«π· Spinach Quiche
π«π· French Lentil Soup
π«π· Coq au Vin (chicken braised in red wine with mushrooms and crisp lardons)
π«π· Steak au Poivre with Cognac Cream Sauce & Frites
Plus, for dessert, Chocolate Mousse will be available, in addition to the French pastries.π
Check out the Upcoming Events page (https://shorelinelake.com/upcoming.html) for more details.
Not a bad way to enjoy a little bit of France by the water. See you here, and have a great weekend everybody!!!π
Independence Day is Thursday, so here's a reminder: πDon't wait until the last minute to book your on-the-water fireworks viewing vessel...π Plus, this year, participants get access to a special BBQ dinner!!!π

It's Earth Day!!!πΏ If you want to take part in a community-oriented event at Shoreline Lake, the Boathouse is happy to provide the buckets and latex gloves for the wonderful volunteers (big or little) involved in our area's clean-up activities.π
Given all the work (and effort) that went into the recent Lake Improvements Project, it's obvious that the local community cares about this beautiful wildlife refuge and keeping it that way. So, we would like to offer anyone showing us their filled bucket some refreshment (a tea, coffee or soda).π
Plus, there are kudos to be had as well: Your (or your group's) picture as part of a thank you in an upcoming newsletter and on our social media.π«Ά
