Dr. Glenn Stone is retiring from Ball State University. He will be relocating to Sacramento State University to serve as their Chair of the School of Social Work.

Dr. Stone joined Ball State in 2009 in the Department of Social Work as Chair and Professor. In this role, he continued the tradition of excellence well known across Indiana in the state’s oldest BSW program. As chair, he worked with colleagues to establish an MSW program, which began in 2019. With others at the university, he collaborated to launch the College of Health
Four years ago, Dr. Stone served as Interim Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for one year and then continued for three years as Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development. As Associate Dean for Research, he has been instrumental in launching and moderating a successful faculty researcher speaker’s series. In addition, he convened a group of 20+ faculty for a Health Disparities Research Interest Group and mentored Dr. Kalyn Renbarger as a dean’s office research fellow. This group brought together many solid ideas for grants and submitted several proposals. Dr. Stone also was instrumental in several large interdisciplinary large grant submissions and awards.
