Tumbleweed Time!!

A text to a friend whose child suffers from mental illness;
“Oh how I wish that I had a magic wand that I could give to all of us who suffer from mental illness and our children and often grandchildren who suffer as well.
The only thing that comes to my mind this morning is the prayer that a new friend shared with me decades ago at a 12- step meeting decades ago. She said, “Come to recovery for yourself, (because of your co-dependancy), not for your daughter and pray that she may have the experiences she needs in order to bring her back to thee." (The rest of that story is found in ‘Our Journey from Darkness to Light ‘ book).
The phrase, "Let go, let God" found new meaning. Even now, decades later I attend 12-step meetings and I have to constantly reminded myself "Trust in the Lord with all thy heart, might, mind and strength, lean not unto thine own understanding, look unto Him in all thy ways, doubt not, fear not."
Please know that I am praying for you today and praying that together we can learn to trust and find peace as we protect our own mental health and pray for our loved ones as they learn their own journeys.

Today I am reminded that there are more than one kind of tears.
Tears of joy
Tears of grief
Tears of pain
And there are silent tears .. that seem to blend my negative emotions all up together and spin them out of control.

Today, after my fall down the stairs and ambulance ride on mothers day, I'm struggling with the last one. Although miraculously I broke no bones or have no stitches, my emotions and my bruised body are crying silent tears.

Yet, I have been through tough stuff before. I will give myself Grace and allow myself to heal...I just need to remember how...

Recently I knitted a washcloth for a friend.

I realized then that it had hole in it. I was going to take the whole thing apart down to the hole, then I decided just sew up the hole.

When I gave it to her, I told her that I made a mistake and she loved it all the more.❤️

The rose without a smell.
On my walk, I noticed this rose. I tried to smell it, but I couldn't smell anything and yet, it still did it's very best to bloom where it was planted and bring Beauty to the world.
I hope we all can remember that we can bring Beauty to the world, even if we don't have all the gifts that other
roses do.

I left the message of this song. It reminds me of a scripture that says "take no thought for tomorrow but the morrow take thought for the things of itself"
