I believe Pete Mitchell, from Top Gun: Maverick, said it best in response to the following statement: “It’s not too late to turn back. You know what happens to you if you go through with this.” And He replies, “I know what happens to everyone else if I don’t.” I can’t help but think that Jesus shared a similar sentiment as He went to the cross, fully knowing all that He would endure on our behalf.

1 Timothy 2:5-6 "For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people."

No other name than the name of Jesus is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. Jesus, our Lord and Savior, willingly surrendered Himself to death on a cross because of His great love for you and me, fully paying the price due for the sins of the world.

No matter who you are, what you’ve done, or where you come from, there’s a place for you here. Come experience the joy of Jesus Christ with us this evening.

Brent has been a Pastor for 18 years mostly in Student and Family Ministry and has ministered in multiple cross-cultural contexts including a Chinese Church in Detroit, inner city Atlanta, and Thailand. He is currently the Executive Pastor of Ministry at Wheaton Bible Church a multi-ethnic church in West Chicago, IL. where his role is to coach and lead in the development of the staff team and guide the Disciple Making Culture. His passion is helping the church cultivate disciple-making relationships within multiethnic and multigenerational environments.


He and his wife Beth will celebrate 19 years together this spring. And they have 4 children: Brynn (15), Gavin (13), Kade (11), and Eion (9). He enjoys cycling, spending time exploring the outdoors with his family, trying new foods, coaching his son’s sports teams, and cheering on his Ohio State Buckeyes!

Alive is a 3-day music festival with 4 stages, 50+ artists, beautiful camping & RV sites, a 1,500-acre lake, tasty food and drink, VIP experiences, late night comedy, and so much more. Alive takes place July 17-21, 2024 at Atwood Lake Park in Mineral City, OH. Our group will be attending next summer!
