It is time.

God is FUNNY y'all. I promise I had a whole content layout for this week, but if you didn't get it the first time, I'll say it again: our plans are not His plans!

Here's my testimony. Small though it may seem.

I'm really trying to embrace and lead by example. I can't help CB to regulate his emotions if I can't do it for myself. Whewwwwwwww...

We have a new power struggle this week. CB is exercising his ability to climb out of his crib. We have had a wonderful three months of cut and dry nap time and bed time routine, and this development is challenging those routines, to put it mildly.

Yesterday's nap in his crib turned into laying in my bed with me, but by then he was sooooo tired that the restless sillies kicked it in which quickly escalated to the exhausted angries... so I wrapped my arms around him in a big hug, which he started to object to, and instead of doing the breathing and saying all the "things," something dropped in my spirit and I just started singing:
🎢 Jesus loves me this I know 🎢

I am not exaggerating when I say he fell completely still at the name of Jesus. I literally felt all the tension release from his little body. He was asleep before I finished the second verse.

Victory. And a good cry. Hang in there mama.

Can I be honest? I might be getting good at prioritizing quiet time with God in the morning, but I am TERRIBLE at remembering to say grace! Even with just three in my household, it seems like we never actually sit down to eat at the same time. *le sigh*

Inspiration struck me today. My two-year-old (CB) is very routine oriented. He experiences something a certain way once, that is the way it must be done. Example: We read a set of board books while sitting on the stairs one time, and now those are officially "The Stair Books."

So here is my hypothesis: If we can successfully say grace tonight before dinner, will CB help me remember tomorrow morning at breakfast? Find out on the next episode of "Using Our Kids Gifts (Quirks) for the Greater Good." πŸ˜†

So my goal is to incorporate grace into CB's mealtime starting tonight.
What are some easy and kid-friendly prayers you have used? Help a mama out! βœŒπŸ’œπŸ™

My plan was to focus on FAMILY this week, but God had different plans. So let's talk FAITH in the context of managing a household.

One of my new daily habits is starting my morning having coffee with the Lord. I have found that by intentionally adding God to my morning, it is easier to see Him and call on Him throughout the day.

What's really interesting is that I can totally can feel the emptiness on days when I skip this coffee date and prioritize something else.

This month I am working through a collection of devotionals by my favorite Christian author Lysa TerKeurst on FB and on IG.

This morning's Devotional topic spoke right to my soul, and I know this message from "What Happens When We Say Yes to God" is the encouragement that someone else needs today too:

"There are things in my life, little and big, that fall short, don't meet my expectations, and cause grumpy feelings inside my heart.

Do you ever sense empty places in your life
too?

Usually this happens to me when the busyness of life has crowded out my quiet time with Jesus. When I have not spent enough time allowing the Lord to refuel and refill me, I forget THIS IS NOT MY REAL HOME.

Realizing that this life is temporary [when I feel empty] helps me to live beyond this moment and rejoice in what's to come.
When we worship in these hard places, we are reminded that none of this is about us - it is all about God. God can use the empty places in your life to draw your heart to Him.

He is building your eternal home that will never get broken, dirty, or need redecorating."

What an amazing reminder that He is preparing the perfect environment for us beside Him. This earthly environment will never be perfect, and I think that's part of His plan, y'all!

Leave a ❀ if this message brings you peace like it did for me. βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

So far in my [almost] three years as a full-time home manager and stay-at-home mom, I bounced back and forth between either rigorous (and unending) daily cleaning, or dedicated mommy mode (enter the dreaded mountain of laundry). I love an immaculate home as much as anyone, but I could only tell my toddler to "hold on" so many times before the mom-guilt set in. So I would switch up and spend two days focusing only on my son, and put my chores on the back-burner. Y'all know the damage a toddler can do in two days? Back to rigorous cleaning, and round and round the hamster wheel I go.

I FINALLY have a system that helps me stay ahead of my daily chore list and spend the bulk of my days with my son instead of cleaning! I have sustained this simple cleaning plan for over three months, and the results are amazing!

How to get started:
- Purchase the digital download to get my blank Weekly Cleaning Schedule.
- Download and print your preferred size on your laptop or desktop.
***PRO TIP: Did you know dry-erase markers work on picture frame glass? Print the chore chart, put it in a cute frame, and use dry-erase markers to fill it out each week!
- Add a few daily tasks like emptying and loading the dishwasher and completing one load of laundry, start to finish.
- Weekly tasks can be broken up by room or by type; I do bathrooms on Mondays, trash on Tuesdays, and all my floors on Thursdays.
- Choose a day for monthly tasks, things like sweeping the porch and organizing the laundry room.
- Once every three months you will have a fifth day to complete your quarterly tasks, like shampooing the carpet.
That's it! Simple, structured, and sustainable. You got this!

The first F of Home Management is Foundation, including functionality, physical state, as well as the spirit and vibe of our surroundings.

Novelist Cecelia Ahern wrote that "Home isn't a place; it's a feeling." Let's reflect on this idea in terms of Home Management.

Spend some time thinking about what "home" means to you. Next choose three words that summarize how you want your to FEEL. (Mine are in the comments!)

Identifying our goals for our home's vibe will give us direction when making decisions about organization, cleaning schedules, and even whether to buy that THING we can't live without. Ask yourself if it fits into the vibe you are going for.

Remember, our lives are constantly growing and changing, so our goals for our homes need to be just as flexible. This exercise is simply to start us off with a conscious awareness of our environment and the way it influences our moods.

Hey y'all! πŸ‘‹ I know my page was quiet last week, but I am excited to share what I've been working on...

My ultimate goal for August's was to identify my brand POV in order to connect my many interests and product ideas. I spent time identifying who I am creating for and what my creations do for that person.

*Cue the angelic chorus*
Everything I've created so far (from my journals and planners to now my printable art and digital products) started as something that would make my life as a stay-at-home mom more successful, more meaningful, and more beautiful.

Some call it homemaking or domestic engineering, but I think the term Home Management more completely encompasses all the aspects of running a household.

The work that Home Managers do (outside of raising kids) is critical to a healthy and functional home. This work may be not be income-based, but consider what people pay for housekeepers, accountants, nutritionists, personal shoppers, and all the other services that go into managing a household!

Over the next few weeks I will be exploring what I call the five Fs of Home Management:
🍁Family - scheduling, activities
🍁Food - meal planning, pantry upkeep
🍁Finances - budget, savings
🍁Foundation - housekeeping, home decor, organization
🍁Faith - prayer journaling, daily devotionals

Remember, everything that we are responsible for today is something we have prayed for in the past. Not only did we pray for these things, but God blessed us with them! Each of us are more than a home manager - we are BLESSINGS MANAGERS!

What is one piece of advice that changed the way you manage your home? Share your secret in the comments 😊

πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ We made it through to the last day of August! One whole month of active has given each of us tools and a personal road map for our journeys. Congratulations!

Day 31:
How do you feel having completed this challenge? What concepts and discoveries from this process are most significant to you? What topics do you want to explore further?

Thank you for joining me on this journey! Stay tuned for more and new product launches in September!

Yesterday we wrote letters of encouragement to our past selves. Today we will write another letter, though it may seem a bit more challenging.

Day 30:
Write a thank you note to your PRESENT self, accepting yourself for who you are right now, in this very moment.

08/29/2021

A big part of focuses on the positive. The unavoidable truth is we have all had negative experiences. Think about one (or more) of these tough chapters in your life story.

(Trigger warning: exploring past trauma can open up thoughts and emotions which can be difficult to control. Please seek professional counseling in order to help process these big emotions if you feel overwhelmed.)

Day 29:
Write a letter to the β€˜you’ that lived that chapter. Write the encouraging words you wish someone had said to you. Forgive yourself for your role in that negative experience. Offer any advice you think is relevant.

08/28/2021

Only 3 days left in our for the month of August! Think back to the beginning of the month when you identified your ultimate goal for this challenge.

Day 28:
What opportunities (big or small) have been brought to you since you have been practicing awareness of the gifts of the universe?
Spend some time recounting your successes during this process so far. Don't forget the "little" things that have contributed to your successes.

Remember, if you're too big for the small things, you are too small for the big things! βœŒπŸ’œπŸ™

08/27/2021

Let's talk about abundance, baby.
We typically define abundance as having more than enough. "Enough" is a very subjective word, and often tricks us into thinking we need more, more, more.

Here is a beautiful explanation of "abundance" from goodnet.org:

"In a spiritual context, the notion of abundance or plenty is less about material conditions, revolving instead (once basic needs are met), around an appreciation of life in its fullness, joy and strength of mind, body and soul. This is the cultivation of respect for the creative energy of the universe. An abundant life is one that leaves negative feelings of lack, dissatisfaction and emptiness behind. Instead, it is open to light and love that come from a more spiritual domain."

In this context, abundance is less about HAVING enough and more about BEING enough in an unpredictable world.

Day 27:
With respect to this fresh definition of "abundance," what does an abundant person look like, act like, and do? What will you do to embody an energy of abundance in your daily life?
βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

08/26/2021

The past few days we have created some powerful tools to help us on our journeys to our dream lives. I have compared this process to developing a "road map" tailored to each of us and our individual paths.

When we take road trips, not only do we make sure we have a map and clear directions, but we also plan for contingencies along the way.
- The spare tire in the trunk helps us avoid long and expensive delays IF we get a flat.
- My mom taught me to keep $20 cash somewhere at all times, because there isn't always an ATM around the corner.

This journey of personal growth will have it's own share of obstacles. The purpose of today's is to prepare us for potential setbacks so we don't get set back!

Day 26:
Describe three ways to exercise self-care, self-love, and self-worth. Next, and this is critical, make a commitment to yourself that you will apply one or more of these exercises EVERY SINGLE DAY. Write out the promise that you will actively encourage yourself, even when you don't feel like it... ESPECIALLY if you don't feel like it! βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

08/25/2021

Our minds can be our worst enemy. Our doubts create obstacles. Our insecurities cripple us from taking another step. Our constant obsession with comparing our journeys to those around us means we are no longer focusing on our own path.

Since my almost three-year-old started walking, I've used the phrase "watch where you're going" a hundred times a day. I think we all need this reminder once in a while.

It's time to eradicate your self-doubt. It's time to break through your insecurities. It's time to watch where you're going.

Day 25:
Reflect on the dream life you are manifesting. Now imagine yourself completing a regular task framed in that dream situation.

This is yet another exercise in connecting your desired future with your present reality. In this exercise, you are placing your present self into your future dream life.

Are you manifesting your dream house? Describe the experience of cooking a meal, step by step, in the kitchen of your dreams.

Next, write out some reminders for yourself of why you deserve your dream life, because YOU DO DESERVE IT.
If any self-doubt starts creeping in, go back to your vision of you actively living that life.

08/24/2021

Stop and speak this aloud:
I create opportunity everywhere I go.

Day 24:
What obstacles do you put in your own path that hinder you from succeeding? What will you do to turn these obstacles into opportunities?

08/23/2021

Repeat after me:
I am incredibly successful.
I am incredibly successful.
I am incredibly successful.

Day 23:
Think about success and describe what it means to you. Which of your traits and behaviors contribute to the incredible success you have achieved in your life so far?

Photos from Pourify by Shauna's post 08/22/2021

All this month, we have been building personal road maps to direct us on our journey toward our dream lives! Let's add another element to remind us which roads lead us closer to our destination.

Day 22:
Write a "script" to refer to when you question your direction.
Choose three AND three quotes that will act as road signs on the way to your dream life.

(Keep this script accessible everyday. Add to it and adjust as needed. This is YOUR map to YOUR dream life!)
βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

08/21/2021

Yesterday we uncovered more truth about our present state and how we view ourselves. Today we shift our focus to the future, again followed by connecting our present to our desired future. You are building a road map to your dream life!

Day 21:
What three words do you want others to use to describe you? Define what these words mean to you. What can you do to create that energy today (and everyday)?

08/20/2021

Day 20:
What are three positive words you would use to describe yourself? What do these words mean to you? How do they serve you on your journey toward your dream life?

08/19/2021

You gave yourself a powerful tool yesterday - written proof of YOUR behaviors that are getting you closer to your dream life! Let's add some more evidence.

Day 19:
Identify at least three behaviors you WILL integrate into your daily life that WILL contribute to the of your dream life.

Tip: Pay attention to the language you use. Today's could have said "behaviors you CAN integrate that CAN contribute..."
CAN indicates ability, but WILL indicates certainty.
I'll repeat, CAN indicates ability, but WILL indicates certainty.
Try this same technique in the way you talk to yourself throughout the day! βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

The purpose of our is to recognize our strengths and opportunities for improvement in regards to our dream lives.

Say it with me:
I AM READY TO MANIFEST MY DREAM LIFE.

Day 18:
What behaviors of yours prove that you are ready to your dream life? Identify practices from before this journal challenge, as well as those you have adopted along this journey so far. βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

08/17/2021

Day 17:
Reflect on the words and phrases you used yesterday to describe your present relationship with money. Now rephrase them and reframe them to describe your IDEAL relationship with money.

For example:
Impulsive: I spend small amounts of money impulsively, which add up over time.
Rephrased ideal:
Discerning: I am discerning with my small spending, which will add to my savings over time.

These small connections of our present reality to our ideal future are important for us to identify so when we come to a crossroads, we can more easily recognize the path that will get us closer to where we want to be.

Last week we uncovered details about our personal relationships. Today, we are digging into a different kind of relationship:

Day 16:
Describe your current relationship with MONEY. Then choose three words that summarize your description.

08/15/2021

Our today is a simple and straight-forward question. Your answer may not be. Trust the process and follow through.

Day 15:
Do you feel in control of your thoughts? Explain.

08/15/2021

Back to the basics. If our basic needs are not being met, we are in a constant fight-or-flight mode. Remind yourself this morning that you are safe in this moment.
Repeat this 7 times out loud:
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.

And so it is. βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

*πŸ’œIf you are truly in a dangerous situation, please contact the proper authorities. This affirmation is meant for use for inward reflection and personal growth. As a domestic abuse survivor, I want to be clear: Daily affirmations do not fix abusive partners or other physically/mentally dangerous situations. There is help and there is hope. πŸ’œ

08/14/2021

You did it! Two weeks complete in our for the month of August!
So far we are many positive things like joy, peace, success, intuition, power, and simplicity. Now make it personal.

Day 14:
Identify and describe three things that you want to more of in your life.

I hope you are inspired by some of the topics we have covered, but please do not limit yourself to this list. The universe has many amazing things for you, waiting for you. Do not be afraid to think BIG! You are worthy of your dreams! βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

The riches of the universe come to me easily.
The riches of the universe come to me easily.

And so it is!

08/13/2021

We are continuing to positive relationships today. Reflect on the "perfect relationship" you described yesterday. (Remember these exercises should be personal, so you can focus on any relationship that would benefit from more positivity, like a friend, co-worker, parent, child, or partner.)

Day 13:
What role did you play in the relationship you described? How can you be more like the person that creates that kind of energy?

βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

08/13/2021

STOP right now and remind yourself that you are an important piece of the universe! Not because your money or your looks or even the things you do for others, but simply EXISTING.
Repeat this aloud:
I make a difference in my world simply by existing in it.
I make a difference in my world simply by existing in it.
I make a difference in my world simply by existing in it.
Carry on with your important self βœŒπŸ’šπŸ™

08/12/2021

Remember when you were a kid and could make a best friend in just one afternoon at the playground?
As adults, we tend to lose this natural ability to make genuine and meaningful connections.
Today we are positive relationships.

Day 12:
Describe your perfect relationship.

(Please note: these exercises are designed to encourage you to discover things about yourself, your life, and your perspective. Today's exercise can refer to a romantic partnership, a friendship, or a relationship with a parent, sibling, or child.)

08/12/2021

STOP and repeat these words to yourself:
I create opportunity and happiness everywhere I go.
I create opportunity and happiness everywhere I go.
I create opportunity and happiness everywhere I go.
And so it is.

Carry on with your happy self!
