As of now we are looking for wind gusts along the coast now up to 50-60 mph and up to 3-7 inches of rain expected.

Keep an eye out, some businesses are starting to close tomorrow for the storm so make sure to plan ahead!

Myrtle Beach insider tips for a discount on a trip here through the rest of 2022!

If you are debating a visit, here are 10 ideas that may save you some money.

1. Book Sunday through Thursday: rentals are down across the board this year on the Grand Strand. Units seem to be full as usual on the weekends but the weekdays are noticeably less volume.

2. Ask for a discount from the person taking your reservation. I recommend calling the number associated with the unit you are interested in and let them know you are shopping multiple units. Many will offer a discount on the spot to get you to commit. I have heard stories of people doing this and getting free nights or sometimes up to 25% off of their nightly rate.

3. Depending on where you are driving or flying from try to arrive the morning of your booking. Go straight to the beach, shopping, a show, etc. You can gain a extra day of fun without paying for a extra night in a property. This works well with leaving town as well. Check out, hang out, then drive:fly home when convenient.

4. Set a maximum of eating out of once per day. You can snacks in the room and have a meal in before you go out for the night to entertain yourself.

5. Eat your meal out during happy hour. Many local establishments offer discounts on apps, meals, and drinks during 4-7.

6. Bring or buy beach chairs for your family. Rentals get expensive!

7. Instead of renting a car for the full visit, try to plan all your events that require transportation during a few days. TURO owners will deliver and pickup your vehicle and you can rent for shorter periods of time.

8. Pick up coupon books from local establishments. Oldie but goodie!!

9. Sign up for a grocery store discount card. Food Lion in Myrtle Beach offers great savings and seems to be as fair priced or better as other local grocery stores. Can’t go wrong with Wal Mart as well.

10. Gas up just outside town. If you have a club membership we have a Sam’s and a Costco in MB. You can also get bulk food for your stay.
