Dear loved followers. On October 22nd, 2014 , I was admitted to the hospital with End Stage Renal Failure and later diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. Due the extensive dialysis and chemotherapy, I am no longer giving lessons. I expect to have the cancer under control soon, but it looks like I'll be on dialysis the rest of my life, which I intend to be long and full of music. I have referred all my students to Kevin Conlin , 630-697-8750 (Please tell him you saw him here so he knows where the referral came from. He's a great teacher and a wonderful performer. In the mean time, I am on early disability but it just barely pays the existing bills. I can't pay the doctor bills from my first two weeks in the hospital. The hospital, Community Hospital in Indiana, waived the bill for me which I greatly appreciate. So , I have joined a fund raiser online site started by the actor Edward Norton. It's starting to do well and if I hit the goal in a reasonable amount of time I will be able to pay the bills without filing bankruptcy. I just listed my 2009 D18 for sale on Craigslist . Already I got what I think is a scam text. (The guy wants to send me money on PayPal and have someone pick it up! We had a great time last night at the Beginners' Group Lesson! It was a great bunch of motivated people and we all had fun. They learned a lot about how to play guitar, even learned to play two songs by the end of the two hours. It was such fun that Jim and I will put together another one.
