Cortisol has gotten a bad rap, but did you know it’s not the demon you think it is?

In the fitness community, dis-regulated cortisol is often associated with negative effects like muscle breakdown, increased fat storage, and impaired recovery. Cortisol, often referred to as the “stress hormone” and she plays a crucial role in major bodily functions, including metabolism, immune response, and stress management.

I have been through it with cortisol! I gained a messed up 13lbs of inflammation and body fat in just 17 days because my cortisol was so out of whack in 2020 and man did it feel like I was losing at life while I had no idea how to get back to GOOD. My brain was foggy from sun up to sun down, my joints hurt, and my fitness routine and work suffered greatly...so this also means my finances suffered. This freaking SUCKED worse than the flu and felt never-ending. No doctor could figure this out for me, so I did my own testing with a Dutch Test.

My cortisol was high all day and wasn’t metabolizing. It was creating a monster of me.

I then learned the hard way that managing stress, ensuring proper rest, and maintaining a healthy mindset and central nervous system are key to keeping cortisol levels in check.

Your normal cortisol levels will RISE in the AM between 6 AM-8AM, helping you rise up and get ready for the day. Then they will begin to decline throughout the day and become lowest at night to ensure a happy, deep rest.

When your cortisol is disrupted during the day with too much stress, caffeine, over-stimulation, too intense of workouts constantly, then accompanied with no rest to balance it all...this is where we can see full blown dis-regulation and start to see our mental health and physical health decline in the blink of an eye.

My hair was falling out, I had terrible acne, and I had gained POUNDS of body fat, my digestion was painful and unpredictable, and felt my most unhealthy I have ever felt.

One day, I had a revelation... 🪴

I realized that constantly fluctuating on the calorie scale was exhausting and wasn’t leading me to long-term success. I knew there had to be a better way.

So, I made a decision to learn how to nourish my body and achieve the dream physique I desired, all while feeling good inside.

As I made healthier eating a habit, I began my journey towards building physical strength. It wasn’t without its challenges, though...

I had to push past old habits and beliefs about fitness, strengthening not only my body but also my mindset. With consistency, my body started to transform rapidly, and my confidence grew alongside it.

Through this process, I discovered how to make progress a constant, and the results kept pouring in.

Living my life this way, I became fitter, felt sexier, and gained confidence in everything I did. Confidence became the catalyst for all my achievements after breaking free from restrictive and negative cycles.

When you push yourself in the right direction, the results are endless. But when you push in the opposite direction, the results are temporary, and there’s usually a lesson to be learned.

I’ve experienced the pain of trying and failing numerous times, losing trust in myself and my body’s abilities. But I finally made the change to do it sustainably.

You are not broken. You’ve simply been stuck in the same mindset since day one.

“The *XYZ* Diet, a popular fad that claims dramatic weight loss in just 4 weeks!”

Here’s the truth:

Diet plans/fads often promise unrealistic outcomes or rely on restrictive practices that are hard to maintain.

Not to mention, they may overlook the importance of balanced eating and overall well-being.

They also don’t give you the new skills you need to be able to apply in order to keep your results as your life changes (day to day, month to month, year to year, emotion to emotion).

You’ve probably “tried” many different things at this point... severely restricting food groups, unbearable hours of cardio per week, deprivation...
