NEW ALBUM UPDATE!!

It's been a long and unpredictable journey in making this new album, but I'm happy to say that today I'll begin recording vocals, and I'm getting so close to the finish line. I originally intended to complete this project in it's entirety by the end of this past January, but because of a crazy health scare that took me off my feet for the end of 2015 and most of January, it had to wait. For those who have stuck with me, thank you, for those who contributed to the Indiegogo, thank you, for those who have had me in their thoughts and prayers, thank you. Just hold on a little bit longer. I promise it will be worth it.

Glad to have Allie Farris back in the studio today, going in on some Aretha.

Built these Classic Audio Products of Illinois VP26 mic preamps last week. I love building my own studio gear and the satisfaction I get hearing it shine. Finally got to track some vocals tonight and these things sound great!

In 2011 I engineered a few songs for Daniel Harper. I knew immediately how talented he was and I promised myself when it came time for him to do a proper record I'd be the one recording it. Since then, we've spent countless hours together being roommates, recording demos, and becoming close friends.

In 2014 Gus Berry and I went to Boston to record basics for The After Life. Over the course of a very long, snow-filled weekend we finished, arranged, and cut these tracks. The rest of that year was spent adding and subtracting loops, keys, guitars, strings, exotic instruments, vocals. We tried it all! Thanks to all who made it possible.

"My Way Back" is the only one we recorded in 2011 that has made it this far, though in very different form than then. The rest show Daniel's songwriting and vocal progression since that time.
