This years campaign kicks off today at the intersection of rt.140 and rt.6 near Buttonwood Park. Local 841 members will be out there all weekend taking donations. Last year we raised over $31,000 for kids with Muscular Dystrophy.

Each year, Local 841 member Bryce Fortes awards two graduating high school students a scholarship in honor of his cousin Kristian Rose, who tragically passed away in an auto accident in 2011. This year, the Local matched Bryce's contribution, allowing for a $500 award to each student. Pictured are this year's recipients, Alexia Thompson from New Bedford High School and Dania Alvarado Argueta from Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. Congratulations and best wishes!

Sunday June 9th is Firefighter Memorial Sunday. Our annual service will begin at 8:30am in front of our Firefighter Memorial Monument. The monument is located in Buttonwood Park at Rockdale Ave and Lake St. Please join us as we honor those members we have lost both this past year and throughout the years.
