Olivia's Yarnwear
Knitting and crochet for a cause. I donate a percentage of all my sales to animal shelters in my immediate community.
A girl and some yarn.....
I have enjoyed working with yarn since I was little. I have spent many years crocheting afghans for me, family, friends and charity. One day I decided to tackle learning the "2 needle craft" of knitting and haven't been able to stop making, creating and designing things with yarn that are wearable! After making and giving away so many of my knitted/crochet items, I start
The 2023 craftshow season is a wrap for me. Thank you to everyone who made a purchase or visited me this year for a chat and catch-up 💕
My craftshow donation this month is to CARE in honor of my Gary who was rescued on Jan. 3rd by the shelter and has become my knitting companion, following in Spencer’s footsteps.
This holiday season Gary is enjoying being our present under the Christmas tree, knowing he is safe and has loving human, thanks to the amazing volunteers at CARE who nursed him back to health.
Olivia's Yarnwear will be at space 66 at Durfee High School next weekend. It's the last pop-up for the 2023 season so if you have some time, stop on by and visit. There will be lots of vendors there that I have come to know and I can direct you to their unique items.

It’s that time of year where I scale back on the personal knitting and focus on knitting and crocheting for the shop. Here’s my new entry into the shop, the Caron Crochet Cowl.
First show of the season is 2 weeks away at Apple Peach Festival on September 9 & 10.
As some if you know, at the end of each season, I donate the items I have left and begin anew. Some items are retired to make room for new inspiration to keep my interest.
This year, it’s these cowls which are made in a crochet stitch that is squishy and warm while lightweight at the same time.
Colors available will be blue, beige, green and gray as shown on bottom photo.
These poncho style cowls are some of my favorites to make and wear. The new colors in this yarn are so pretty 💙💙
Here is a sampling of my new entry into the shop. These were made in different weight yarn to see which worked up best with the pattern.
This is a bandana style and easy wear as they are seemed in the back. Look great over a sweater or under a jacket. More color variations to be made 😊
It's been a while since my last post, but I'm still here creating away for Olivia's Yarnwear. As in previous years, I take the winter and spring months to work on yarn projects for myself, family and gifts. This year it was extended into the first week of June and it seems timely to post now since it's such a cold and dreary first week of June.
For this year, I'm committing to a few shows, starting with Apple Peach Festival the 2nd week of September, Lakeville Arts Festival, the 1st Saturday in October, Upper Cape & NB Voke in November and wrapping it up with Durfee on the 1st weekend in December.
Some of the favorites such as the Pom Hat, ShawlWrap and Poncho Cowl will be well stocked as I've been working on those the last few months. New to the shop this year will be some bandana style cowls and the return of the original Ollie Beanie.
I hope you are all still interested in my yarn makes and that I get to see and visit with you during the 2023 craft show circuit.
Shop open today at GNBVT until 4:00 pm and tomorrow from 9:30 to 3:30 pm.
Lots of great and unique handmade items here. Shop small today in support of makers and for Voke’s scholarship program.
I will be at this Celebration of Crafts in space C22 which is in the cafeteria near Santa Photo Booth and popcorn. Follow the HoHoHo’s and smell of popcorn and come visit me.
Table will have all of the hats, cowls and shawls I have been posting here along with a few other creations from my personal gift makes.

Production of these to come over the next few weeks in different colors and in two sizes.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this page so I’m hoping there is still interest in my yarn creations 😊
Prep for the 2022 season is beginning as I have started to receive the emails and applications for shows. My usual shows at Upper Cape, NB Voke, and Durfee are already locked in for November. A few others are lined up for early fall and one this summer.
Show season for 2021 was small and items sold were inventory from 2020 so the creative mojo slowed down. As in years past, I retire some items and introduce new ones. This season it will be these unisex cowls in a variety of colors. Watch this space for more creations to come.
Only 1 left if this colorway cowl in the shop after this past weekend show at Durfee. Matching earwarmer makes this a great gift combo for someone who enjoys turquoise color.
Cowl is made with soft acrylic - $30
Earwarmer is also soft acrylic - $10

Shop will be open today at the Voke Scholarship Fair. I’m in the second row, space no.64

My Story
Welcome to my page where I journal [and in librarian speak = archive] my creations.
I have enjoyed purchasing and working with yarn since I was a pre-teen and have spent many years crocheting afghans for me, family, friends and charity and only learned to knit in my 40’s at a library knitting circle. My addiction to buying yarn with the thought of “I can make something with this beautiful yarn!” has resulted in a SABLE (Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy) and the reason for the existence of this hobby page.
After making and giving away so many of my knitted/crochet items, I started selling my items at my first ever craft show in November 2013 at my Mom’s urging. She was always asking me to stop giving away my “work” but I was convinced people liked the pieces because I gave them away. My plan was to sell enough to make a $100 donation to my local pet shelter and discovered that I was able to make enough to send donations to three shelters!
Along with my crochet hats (which are my most favorite and popular item) I now have shawls, cowls and unisex scarves that I make as I unwind from my work day. I am a full-time librarian and use my downtime to mentally process the challenges of being an administrator.
I continue to donate items to local charities or give away to friends and family, but now I’m officially a very small business owner. I spend the first few months of the year making items to give away and then start stockpiling items for the Fall craft shows. Since this is a hobby, I don’t take on orders or special requests. What I make at my whimsy is what is available for sale. Each year I retire items as I work up new items from the SABLE in the house. Since this is a hobby, continuing to make the same thing every year would make it a job.
