There were four of us that made it to a Saturday practice at Cape Fear Fencing Association. Micaiah had the most fun practicing both foil and epee.

We are here competing at the NC Division Qualifier in Apex. We had Josh White, Johnathan Riley, and Micaiah Engel competing in the Div 2 men's foil. With Micaiah coming in third place, Josh coming in fourth place, and Johnathan coming in fifth place.

Salle New Bern had two teams competing in the team event in Fayetteville at All American Fencing Academy. My team with Isaac Gardner and Debbie Miller manages to defend the last place spot. The team of Josh White. Johnathan Riley, and Micaiah Engel fenced some incredible matches and thanks to Micaiah's last minute heroics came in third place. Fun was had by all.

Today at the Apex Fencing Academy we had Debi Miller and Johnathan Riley competing in the foil events. Johnathan fenced in a massive 9 person pool and went 6-2 and eventually tied for third. Debi had a pool of 5 and went 2-2 and she also finished tied for third. Great fencing today.

It's day 2 of the Raleigh Nac! Today Donny is continuing to Referee, Josh is volunteering with armory and Ryan will be fencing during the div2 men's epee

This weekend the coaches are busy at the Raleigh nac! Josh fenced the Div2 foil today and Donny is refereeing the entire weekend. Tomorrow Ryan will be fencing the Div2 epee.

Today we had Jack Howard, Arturo Saucedo-Trindad, and Debbie Miller competing. Jack managed to finish in third place in senior men's foil

Joshua White being recognized for making it to the semi finals in the D and under foil event at All American Fencing Academy in Fayetteville.

We will not have practice on November 7. Our practice space is being used for the upcoming election.

With Halloween night being on a practice night, we will not have practice that night. It appears over half our members will be enjoying other Halloween activities.
I told them we already wear masks and no one seemed to care about that.

Below is a copy of the email I sent to Phil Andrews, Chief Executive Officer, USA Fencing. A lot of times people are critical of changes and quick to complain when things are not what they expect. It's also nice to let people know when things go well. Phil hooked me up with Tanner Gonzales. Tanner was very helpful. We had to go back and forth a few times to get things corrected.

Definitely interesting information. This only applies to Div 1 events with more than 203 competitors.

What to Know About the Format for Division I Foil and Epee Events at National Tournaments Beginning at the October 2022 North American Cup, Div I men’s and women’s foil events will use a two-pool format if an event has 203 fencers or more.

Had a good epee practice today at Cape Fear Fencing Association.

Our first practice of the new season is this coming Thursday night at the West New Bern Recreation Center. Come out and try the Olympic sport of fencing.

Summer Nationals are underway. We had a few of our members qualify in various events. Only Josh White is going to compete. He will be competing in div2 men's foil and div3 men's saber this coming weekend.

Due to weather we will not be having practice tonight. Sorry for short notice and inconvenience

This weekend was the divisional qualifiers in Apex. Josh, Jonah, Marston, Edward, Ryan, and Donny all competed. Everyone managed to qualify for nationals. Josh earned a silver medal in foil and Ryan earned a silver medal in epee. Congrats to everyone who managed to qualify this weekend!

Yesterday was the Old Man Winter tournament. We had Josh White, Bart Salvits, and Marston Crawford competing. Marston managed to finish second in the veterans epee event.

We will not be having practice Monday January 17 because of the holiday.

We are dealing with some potentially bad weather conditions with the wind and the moisture on the roads. The temperatures are going to drop after the sun goes down. We are going to cancel practice tonight. Everyone stay safe tonight.
