We were so happy to have been apart of the CHSS SEL-ebration yesterday. The students were able to add to our collection of painted rocks to spread around our district. Our community has been painting rocks with positive messages to remind the CCSD students that they belong and they matter. We hope seeing them will help brighten someone's day!
In the aftermath of the recent school board elections, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment in our ongoing journey to support and uplift our LGTBQ+ community at CCSD. While the campaign rhetoric may have been disheartening, it serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of our organization and our mission.
Despite the divisive messaging that we have heard over the past few months, the CCSD Pride PTSA should be proud of the work we have done this year. Our organization has become a beacon of hope and support for our students, families, and staff, providing resources, advocacy and a safe space to be our authentic selves.
The recent election results may spark uncertainty and concern, but they have ignited a renewed sense of purpose. Now more than ever, we are called to stand together in solidarity and continue our advocacy on behalf of our LGTBQ+ community.
Let us celebrate the resilience and strength of our trans and non-binary students, who inspire us with their courage and authenticity everyday. Let us celebrate the unwavering commitment of our organization to create a more inclusive and equitable school community.
Moving forward, let us harness our power to redouble our efforts and amplify our voices. Together, we know, we can affect positive change, ensuring that every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Because it's the law!
"While I commend the Clarkstown Board of Education for adopting a policy that is inclusive of transgender students, the right to access school facilities exists, irrespective of local policy.
American history is characterized by an ever-evolving notion of human dignity. Transgender individuals have joined African Americans, women, individuals with disabilities, Native Americans, Latinos, Asian Americans, and other members of the LGBTQ+ community in demanding the right to be seen in their full humanity. The current of legal equality flows in a single direction - and cannot be held back.""- Daniel Morten-Bentley
As we approach the upcoming school board election, it's essential to emphasize the significance of this event for our community. While our organization cannot endorse specific candidates, it's crucial to elect individuals who align with our mission of inclusivity and acceptance. We need candidates who will champion inclusive board policies, prioritize the safety of all our children, and demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and respect when working with our PTSA. These qualities are vital in ensuring that our schools remain safe, welcoming, and supportive environments for everyone.
Let's stay engaged and informed as we consider the candidates who will best serve the interests of our community and uphold our values of inclusivity and acceptance. Below are the links for: The Clarkstown Council of the PTAs Candidate Forum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lekuq6BM0Ig
