Purpose: Fundraising for TeensCorner Cafe
Overview: The Entrepreneurs Night Out Series is a recurring fundraising event designed to sustain the TeensCorner Cafe, a unique venture where teens can learn about and engage in the food industry. The series not only supports the operational costs of the cafe but also provides a platform for teens and adults to immerse themselves in entrepreneurial experiences and networking.
Goals and Benefits:
Youth Development: Participating teens gain hands-on experience in running a business, fostering growth into capable entrepreneurs. Each teen is required to participate in two fundraising events annually, introducing them to various facets of the entrepreneurial world and helping them identify their industry of interest.
Adult Entrepreneurship: The event series serves as a networking hub for adult entrepreneurs, offering access to vital resources and opportunities to engage with like-minded professionals, enhancing their business success.
Support Needed:
Donations and Sponsorships: Critical for the continuation and success of the TeensCorner Cafe. Options for support include:
Sponsorship Packages:
Weekly: $120 to sponsor a teen's involvement in the cafe.
Monthly: $480 for ongoing support and resources for a teen.
General Donations: Contributions of any amount are welcome to help fund the project.
Call to Action: This initiative cannot succeed without collective support. We welcome contributions from individuals, businesses, and parents who are eager to make a positive impact on the future of our youth and the entrepreneurial community.
Additional Information: Your involvement and sponsorship will directly enhance the educational and professional opportunities available to local teens, while also benefiting the broader business community through structured networking events.

Teens Corner Cafe is a non-profit program specifically designed for teens aged 16 and 17. We have initiated this program to offer employment opportunities to 10 teenagers in need. This is a paid opportunity aimed at teaching teens the basics of business operations and commercial kitchen management, starting from how to handle a job interview.
Our goal is to make a positive impact in our community by guiding these young individuals. This opportunity is a stepping stone for them to potentially become entrepreneurs after graduating from high school. We aim to equip them with the necessary skills to achieve this.
We will be conducting interviews on June 19th from 12 PM to 2 PM. It is important that candidates dress in professional attire, as we want to instill a sense of professionalism and teach proper etiquette, despite not being in a typical professional environment.
Initially, our teens will learn to prepare a simple menu that includes burgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs with fries, and strawberry or chocolate milkshakes. This will help them grasp the basics of cooking.
Notification of acceptance will be given by phone call on Friday, June 28th. The program starts on Monday, July 8th. Each intern will initially work 2 days per week, with each shift lasting 4 hours. This schedule allows all participants an equal opportunity to learn and grow. Compensation is based on sales performance; the more you sell, the more you earn. Once a teen reaches $10,000 in sales, they will graduate from the program, making room for new candidates.
We rely on community donations to sustain this program and plan several fundraising events to ensure its success. Each candidate is required to participate in at least 2 fundraising events per year.

I asked God to remove the people who weren’t for me and introduce me to who is for me. And this is what he did! This is my family and my new friends and I am so happy to have met each and every one of them. But none of this would have been possible without Jackie Downing and The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven!!! We at Black Corner Investments Inc thanks you for all that you do! The most amazing experience I’ve ever had. Overwhelmingly amazing!!! This room is full of POWERFUL people making changes in this world! I salute each and every one of you!
“A lie doesn’t become truth, wrong doesn’t become right, and evil doesn’t become good, just because it’s accepted by a majority,” is a powerful reminder that truth and justice should not be determined by popular opinion or majority rule.
