This summer, the Lincoln Highway Association invited LWE student Jack McDonnell to present his Eagle Scout project at their annual conference. For his project, Jack restored and beautified a historic highway marker in front of Lincoln-Way Central High School. The Lincoln Highway marker was originally installed by the Boy Scouts nearly 100 years ago.
Jack received the "Friend of the Highway Award." The Association also recognized Dr. McNamara and Lincoln-Way Central for working together and supporting Jack with his project. Congratulations and great work!
Thank you to The Lincoln Highway Association for inviting me to present my Eagle 🦅 project highlights at their annual conference in Elkhart, IN last night.
I was humbled and honored to recieve the ‘Friend of the Highway Award’. I also represented Lincoln-Way Central and Dr. McNamara who were honored with Educator of the Year from the Association.
Our Scouts of Orland Park Troop 318 are making a difference, one project at a time, and we're incredibly proud of their dedication and hard work.

I gave my Mentor's Pin to my mom. Without her guidance and dedication, I would have never completed my journey in Scouting.
Last night I was officially awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. Thank you to all that helped make this happen.

My project completed today. I met with Dr. McNamara, Principal of Lincoln-Way Central High School, and Asst. Principal Mr. DePolo. I reviewed and presented the improvements which reside on school property. 
Thank you to everyone who contributed through my fundraiser and through donations. Due to your generosity I was able to present them with a check for $3200 for continued maintenance and upkeep.

Project complete! Troop 318 of Orland Park and Lincoln-Way East AFJROTC Cadets really showed up in force this morning to complete in 3.5 hours! I couldn’t have done it without all of you.

Troop 318 honors and congratulates 4 new Eagle Scouts last night!
Did a little pre-planning and touch up work for this Saturday. Can’t wait to see everybody for the last day of my project! Stay tuned for some final pictures this weekend!
Definitely made some progress today. We had to cut it short due to hail and rain.
Day #2 is underway! Finishing the prep work, and the staining of the ceiling has started.

In attendance for my project today was Kay & Ed Kozak from the Lincoln Highway Association. I am honored to have their support throughout my project. 
Day 1 complete! Demolition and prep work finished. Plus a little litter pickup for the high school.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy. I couldn’t do it without you!
