Today was one of those days where I had to remind myself and practice doing things that make me happy. I found this list I made about 2 years ago and intentionally did about 5 things on the list. Make you a list of as many things that you can think of that make you happy. Then on those days where you’re feeling sad, bored or depressed visit that list and do something on there to lift up your spirits even if for a little while.

I’ve gotten some new followers recently and I just want to introduce myself to y’all! My name is B Rich, I'm a personal trainer passionate about helping individuals reach their fitness goals. Prior to becoming a personal trainer, I was an elite athlete for many years which earned me a scholarship to compete for the LSU Women's Track Program. Shortly after receiving my Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology from LSU, I began working at various training facilities around the New Orleans area to further develop my skills.
I have now developed a holistic approach to training, focusing on the whole being rather than isolating areas. My goal during training sessions is to get the mind, body and spirit involved, when all those areas are functioning together that is when we can be our most rich self. I use my experiences as an athlete and knowledge that I acquired while studying to help individuals transform their lives and reach their fitness goals.

So many of us want to be in the greatest shape of our lives but only want to do the bare minimum to make it happen

We find shortcuts like detox teas, waist trainers, fad diets, etc to try for a quick fix. Only to go back to doing the same things after.

When in reality, you just need a lifestyle change. Make losing weight and staying fit something that you practice everyday.

From working out to eating better to making overall healthier choices

If you only want temporary results cool don’t put as much effort in. If you want to experience sustained results and live your rich life, it’s a full time effort.

Recovery is so important for how well your body responds and is able to bounce back from the workout. Here are a few tips to help:

1. Eat a nutritious meal or snack because it helps to refuel your body and aids in muscle repair

2. Rehydration replenishes electrolytes that were lost while sweating

3. Stretching/ light activity after the workout as well as on off days can help prevent soreness

4. Rest may be one of the most important factors because it allows the body to actually repair itself
