It's been a week since we put on Top Taco at Lafreniere Park and the past week has given me enough time to adequately express my thanks to everyone involved in the event. There is so much that goes into creating and producing an event and so much that can derail the hard work we all put into it. But when the weather cooperates and unforeseen calamities (salt wedges, burn bans, airborne diseases, hurricanes, etc.) remain at bay, and we are able to put on the type of event we envisioned, then everyone leaves happy, full, and feeling like they got their money's worth. I am especially proud of the way our team worked together through any issues we had, and I am grateful for our sponsors and restaurant partners who put their own time and money into making Top Taco such an awesome event. Together, we were able to raise over $50,000 for the PLEASE Foundation so that they can support and nurture their amazing students as they continue their journey toward college and beyond. We made some great progress today. Tents are up, I LOVE TACOS sign is in place, and we are ready for the restaurants and our tequila sponsors to load in tomorrow and Thursday.
