If you are actively trying to conceive, it is never “too early” to have sperm tested. While the typical recommendation is to test after 12 months of trying naturally if you are younger than 35 and 6 months if you are older than 35, there is currently greater accessibility of at home sperm tests that might lead you to consider testing sooner. It takes a minimum of 3-6 months to improve sperm health if any abnormalities are found. Please contact your doctor for a comprehensive assessment and guidance.

If you have treatment at our clinic, generally speaking we all like to test sperm health at the beginning of your journey to help determine your plan.

It is worth expanding on 3 of the points in the above post:
- Poor diet refers to consuming high amounts of processed food, fried foods, fast foods, refined sugars and artificial sweeteners (to name a few culprits).
- Testicular overheating can be caused by sitting or driving for longer than 20 minutes at a time, working in a hot environment, wearing clothing that causes overheating, going into hot tubs/steam rooms/saunas
- Exposure to harmful chemicals include pesticides, fertilizers, synthetic fragrances, air pollution, plasticizers and solvents

This is a MUST WATCH 💙 Today is the first day of Infertility Awareness Month. We want to start the month with hope - showing you what is possible when you become one of our patients. In her mid-30’s, Lauren had not decided if or when she wanted to have children. To keep the option open, she contacted Extend to start her egg freezing journey. With her eggs frozen, she had peace of mind to progress her personal life and relationship with Jon on her own timeline. A few years later Lauren and Jon made the decision to grow their family and they reached back out to us. They were ready to fertilize Lauren’s previously frozen eggs in our lab, while trying to conceive naturally. When trying naturally was not successful, they now had frozen embryos to use to complete the IVF process. The outcome is the beautiful, healthy baby you are looking at in the video 🤍 A huge thank you to Lauren and Jon for trusting us and for sharing your story. If this story resonated and you want to learn about how we can help you on your unique fertility journey, call us at 212-810-2828 or click the link in our bio! Thank you for reading this and watching our work live in action, we would be honored to help you next 💙
